Honestly you can do probably 90% of this on a stove with a griddle pan. I grabbed a big flat cast iron flat griddle and I use it for most of my indoor stove cooking or when I am only making a smaller meal. Yeah, its not a substitute for charcoal or a smoker but for most of your “grilled” meals, you can get 80-90% as good as proper grilled. Its my preferred way to do steaks full stop. Nothing gets a good crust on a steak like a reverse sear on ripping hot flat cast iron.

Hash browns alone make it worth it!

Depending on your load and ceiling capacity, you can swap the stock cable for garage door cables to make them easier to work with. Those are supposed to be rated to 350lbs.

I don’t know about the Nomad but some of the later ZEN player had newer firmwares that borked the battery replacements. The Vision W doesn’t seem to care I think partially because the BMS board is built into the battery itself. I bought some extra storage adapter boards to test so may grab a ZEN touch or vision M to play with but I need to get my library cleaned up first.

On the transfer side, some of the later models or later firwares basically turn them into mass storage drives. My player shows up in Linux with no drivers fwiw.

Should be a good one, It boots quicker for sure and should use less battery. I really wanted to try and get it working with the microsd card for even better power consumption but I could never get the card to read properly even with a mbr partition. I guess since I have all the adapters now, I could try cloning this drive to a sd card and see if that works…
