  • Next few decades? I’m more worried about the next 10 years by itself. Imo we’re looking at global economic collapse probably starting early 2027 or so. Then world war 3 probably by 2030. You could argue we’re already in it. I just mean the big one (China vs USA). It may be delayed a bit due to the US just having horrible supply chains and needing time to ramp up production on bombs/missiles. I think they’ll invade Cuba before Trumps term ends and use a bunch more too.

I’m expecting the Aremnia to have some sort of civil conflict soon and the Ukraine and Iranian front to merge together for the most part. Israel will just continue to get more belligerent and expansionist. I really don’t see how we could possibly avoid at the least a huge regional conflict at this point and the US seems hell bent on starting WW3 too.

The climate is going to suck, but people will adapt to it. China for sure. They’re already working on all the tech they’d need to feed their entire country with hydroponics. Thorium for power will be the game changer. Generally the way of life most people in the west live now is just not going to last. It’s unsustianable. They’ll get a wake up call soon and will react by going full fash like the reactionaries they are. Then the rest of the world will have to reign them in. It’ll be a mess and it’ll happen faster than anyone would expect.

  • In all seriousness though? Eat now. Put on a few pounds if your skinny. Nothing crazy but don’t be too thin because a few pounds can save your life if food is hard to come by. And buy a huge bag of rice and dried beans and just stick it in your pantry. Couple tubs of peanut butter. Those are all cheap, calorie dense, and give you carbs, fats, and protein. It can get you through a tough few months. Plus they last forever anyway so you have time to eat them even if you don’t need them in an emergency.

20lbs bag of dried white rice 10lbs bag of dried pinto beans 2 40oz containers of peanut butter. That’s roughly 30,000 calories for like 30-40$. If food prices get out of control using that to supplement what you have by just adding fresh produce to it and stuff is a great way to not go hungry.

If you want meat and have freezer space you can buy bags of chicken quarters now and clean/freeze them individually for later. They’re the cheapest meat you can get usually. Usually comes in a massive 10lbs bag.

Being poor teaches you how to make a dollar stretch.

  • I really don’t think it matters what the general person in the west thinks lol. It’s never mattered before. It’s not like the US hasn’t killed millions of innocent people over the last few decades. The only thing thats going to stop that is when other countries can fight back. Like Iran is now. There is no timeline where the typical American rises up and demands their government stops murdering people in the numbers needed to actually force a change.

  • Yeah but that’s not so much the LLM being the threat as the idiot human being the threat. It would be no different then like me putting a cat in the same room as the big red button. When it steps on it and launches nukes its not really the cat doing it. It’s the fact that I was an absolute moron who locked a cat in that room for some reason. And idiot humans have always been the main threat when it comes to nukes.

  • I’m not worried about AI takeover at all honestly. These LLMs are not intelligent and are not something that would ever be a like terminator threat imo. But they are an economic threat. These companies are basically lighting trillions of dollars on fire and thinking its going to make a profit somehow. Then its going to destroy entire local economies and environments when they build these huge things, and abandon them there. The treasury markets will crash due to the Iran war Trump started too and interest rates will rise causing a broad liquidity crisis and a global depression. The 2000s and the 1900s are rhyming far too much for my liking.
