  • DM me a link. I’ve seen none of this. Will update this comment and my other once I see it.

So there definitely was at least a thread stating that people should allow syrians to be happy about the end of a poorly-run and torture-happy government. I will nuance with the fact that this seems more in the grouping of “well Assad legitimately deserved this shit, and so people should be allowed to be happy about that part (but the other consequences are going to overrule that).” With the last part being implicit. Not a position I agree with, because I want to believe people can understand such consequences and see the whole picture, but I get it from someone close to the situation.

  • If Hezbollah didn’t think this would happen and didn’t plan for this exact outcome and another five steps in advance past this point when they signed the “ceasefire”, this war’s already over because whoever’s in the top command will probably forget how to breathe air and keel over.>

    hahaha

Yeah, it doesn’t really take Marxism to realize this at all, but it’s nice to take the easy points when you can. (Just kidding, it’s liberalism, read Cesaire’s Tell No Lies, Claim no Easy Victories and self crit if you believed me)

I have full trust that someone in the resistance understands this and sees it as a strategic step in some way. Let’s hope that that analysis is good, because I must admit that I’m not understanding the path to victory at the moment. Options I see before us (question marks indicate that I’m confused) -Getting the Lebanese Army to join in the fight because now Hezbollah is clearly not at fault (?) and this leads to victory because they’re the army of a recognized state (?) -Getting sympathy from other states (?) and getting assistance from the currently traitorous states (?) -creating space for a front line further into lebanon during the ceasefire, hoping that Israel invades deeper, and destroying the army deeper into Lebanon (seems best option to me, but teh extent of Israeli bombing might be an unexpected hindrance)

    I’m just spitballing though.

  • You know this got me thinking… I’m not super familiar with star Wars, haven’t seen any since I was pretty young, but I remember thinking the Death Star was like HUGE, with like the population of a large city living in its labyrinth.

If that’s so, the movie really should’ve shown the “average innocent” Death Star person on break just drinking at the local sector bar, getting surprised and the. blasted unceremoniously by some rebel. They probably had like whole shopping centers that could’ve been cool to show the banality of that evil. Would’ve really pushed home the “empire is evil” idea.

Or not because then it’s less useful propaganda. But I would’ve liked it at least
