My degree is in physical education K-12. When I graduate I didn’t go right into education. When I told one of my professors she cried full on tears. That’s how bad it is.
I returned to education ~3 years. It’s scary. And I’m in a “wealthy” state. Our school’s are hanging on by a thread even with record low enrollments due to people not having children. (the only schools that were thriving were the ones with massive migrant populations.)
No I’m saying just because you have coke and diet coke as options doesn’t mean you have to drink one. Even more so when you can see water is an option but for some reason everyone demands you must drink diet coke because coke is less healthy.
I didn’t say uneducated. I said politically uneducated Americans (mostly center right and far right) think American tax money going to improve America is somehow communist. They think the government doing anything is an encroachment on freedoms. (while simultaneously deciding what other individuals can and cannot do to their own body)
Also. The teacher profession is all but dead in America. A lot of people that would be bad for students get weeded out through years of education and training. Most school districts are luck if they have more than 50% of their teachers educated/trained. The rest are individuals who could pass a background check. Poor areas, are under 30%. Just because someone can pass a background check doesn’t mean they should be around minors. But schools have no other option.
How do we know that? In super deep red areas it’s a uphill battle. But the most left wing president we’ve ran since FDR was Carter and I’d say he’s more neoliberal/pure centrist than progressive/left. Once again, when you only run center and more right candidates; the more center candidates losing isn’t really a sign America wants only right politics. It just means the more left wing voter stays home on elections.

When choices are far right and center right, center left and far left voters just stay home.
And no. Educated people vote left at a much higher rate!
I don’t think running another center right candidate like we have since FDR will work. There’s way more evidence that Americans want far left policies. Problem is that Americans are soooooooo politically uneducated it’s scary
The issue is we’ve never actually tried to run a populist left candidate. So everyone saying, “it’ll never work!” have no real bases for that statement. (the closest we’ve ever been was Sanders, and the DNC ensured that he was not going to be on the ballot.)

Ya but did you ever consider all the morals and values they taught the younger generations, (post boomers and most individuals who were positioned to benefit from the internet boom) was just another weapon used by capitalism? Things like the Golden Rule, protecting those weaker than ourselves, equality, love, etc were lessons those older than us had no intentions of following. They crushed their opponents and ensured no younger generation would ever be powerful enough to overthrow them.
As if anyone would just start a media company in which they proceed to use said company to spread harmful and demonstrably false information on murdered children and their parents. Then yes anyone would do the same… Lol being wealthy should be illegal simply because it gives power to or creates sociopaths.

This is how I knew I didn’t live in a happy home. My brother and I got along well when our father was not around. (I wouldn’t say he was an abusive father. Just not a person anyone enjoys being around for extended time. He’s an ex military man who’s life was too rough for anyone to come out happy. And emotionally cold.)
Technically isn’t Highlander?
This type of in fighting across not only departments but also branches of the government is dangerous. We have stopped being a functional country
