Been playing Hytale and 2XKO. Hytale has been great even tho it’s early access and there isn’t really much endgame. I just crafted the highest gear you can at the moment, and have been having a blast just exploring and crafting and upgrading at the benches, this game has huge potential, my only worry is that the TOS/EULA kind of allows for paid mods and stuff, which is not good and I hope changes in the future, also Curseforge is the current way of getting mods but I hope an alternative gets popular, like Modrinth with Minecraft.

For 2XKO I have been playing duos with my brother and it has been super fun, I play Jinx and Vi, he plays Teemo and sometimes Blitz. I hope we get good at this so I can convince him to play SF6. I haven’t played it in a while, but I really want to get back into it.

Also I’m watching Frosty Faustings right now and it’s pretty cool, the top 8 is just starting right now. My only complaint is that there is a fucking Pissraeli in the top 8, why the fuck is a colonizer allowed to enter the tournament? Fuck that. On the official 2XKO channel mentions of Palestine were even deleted from the chat.

As far as I know Nintendo tend to be very progressive in these cases, to this day it recognizes gay marriage, even if Japan doesn’t.

MO2 is great, but I think when I tried it years ago there were some issues that made it kind of annoying. I think steamtinkerlaunch should make it easy to use it too.

These sites tend to be good, ProtonDB is comprised of community reports, but tends to be accurate, I think I only found like 1 or 2 games long ago that didn’t run and didn’t have an accurate reporting.

That’s cool! I only started messing with Linux in 2018 and from there to today shit is already a lot different, I can only imagine how much different it must be compared to the 2000s.

You didn’t ask, but since you want to game on it, I would suggest you take a look into “gaming ready” distros like Bazzite, Nobara and CachyOS. I personally use Bazzite, but have used Nobara before. Also, depending on your laptop’s GPU you might want to test before going all in, I say that because on the Nvidia side, any card before the 1000 series will have horrible DX12 -> Vulkan performance because of a hardware limitation, I know that because I have one laptop with a 960M iirc that’s also running Bazzite, tho those tend to be newer games that wouldn’t run well on that card anyway.

I remember having to use WoeUSB once, that’s definitely something that needs to be easier to do under Linux, even if there shouldn’t be a reason to go back to Windows lol. There’s multiple apps to do this, like Balena Etcher, Fedora Media Writer and Ventoy, yet only WoeUSB can create a Windows installation USB.

Definitely, and can be faster too if you know what you need, but almost any major distro has an appstore so that’s easier for the majority of people.

Nexus Mod Manager is coming to Linux, so it should be easier in the future. There’s also a Linux native mod manager called Limo, which I used for Skyrim, but its a bit of pain to setup correctly. Mod managers for Thunderstore hosted mods, like Gale Mod Manager and r2modman are great under Linux.

You can create a Windows USB install from Linux, but it’s easier to just make one from Windows before formatting.

Dual booting does work, but I would advise you to have two boot partitions, one for Linux and one for Windows, the reason is that while you can just use a single boot partition for both, Windows is a piece of shit that will mess with your boot entries and delete the Linux entry after an update, forcing you to fix it manually which last I tried was hard to do from Windows.

Even installing software or updating won’t need the terminal in a lot of distros nowadays, or at least won’t need the user to type any commands.

You’d be surprised, they usually love to lick Microslop’s boot really hard, it’s pathetic really.

I still have a lot I don’t understand about myself, like there have been times where under extremely stressful situations it becomes really difficult for me to speak for example, but it’s not to the same degree that it happens to so many other autistic people and I usually forget about these times at all because I haven’t been in such situations in a a bit.

BCacheFS looked kinda cool, I didn’t really look much into it, but was glad it made into the kernel, then the whole shitshow started with it lol and now I just kind of lost interest, still it would be cool to have a newer, better file system in the future. I have been using BTRFS for a while now and just the fact I can compress and deduplicate files is a blessing.
