196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•The "back in mah day" and "F those kids" same person rule
6·7 months agoAre we all just going to ignore the fact the kid pictured is clearly too young to be a boomer?
If we ever do met intelligent alien life, there’s no guarantee such a thing will make any sense to them.
I mean, for one, they may not have eyes to see your drawing among a million other likely faulty assumptions in your scenario.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Tesla (TSLA) releases Q2 2025 financing results: revenue down %12, operating income down %42
16·8 months agoTesla aren’t too big to fail.
Unlike GM or Ford, Tesla is tiny. Only their market cap is big, and that’s all based on thoughts and prayers not fundamentals.
It IS a gendered issue.
Men ARE taught from an early age don’t hit girls. Boys and men who do are social outcasts for it. In a public setting men and women will step in to defend the woman.
None of the above is true about a woman attacking a man. In a public setting you’ll see indifference or even coming to the woman’s aid in attacking the man. In media slapping men is just seen as acceptable. There is zero social stigma against women being violent towards men. The assumption is always that he must deserve it.

News@lemmy.world•Trump administration says it is not required to help wrongly deported man return to US
15·11 months agoNah man, it’s well past the beginning.
Rap it up its over already
Only if y’all can finally unite.
The real winners here are China and Russia.
I still expect the EU to remain too fractious to have any real foreign relations power. Until you speak with one voice you will remain weak on the global stage.

Europe@feddit.org•China is wooing Europe with technology, investments - and a smile. But anyone who looks behind China's rhetoric will recognize the conditions: no criticism, no questions, no objections.English
405·11 months agoBecause you can’t get past your minor differences and unite.
A truly united EU would dominate the world, but y’all want to maintain individual sovereignty over foreign affairs.
Six years, and it’s still a sign of a bad techie.
First the printer is the last thing you should have or trust.
Second, smart homes are not inherently insecure but idiots can EASILY make them that way. Many of the most talented, security minded, techs I’ve ever worked with are home assistant users.
Maintain local control only, avoid using cloud enabled devices and it’s fine.
Stop pushing ignorant positions like this post.
Is he ok with this situation? Or is he also a victim now?
Probably the pay, Europe is notoriously lower pay, especially for tech.
Also, the visa process is way harder then just moving within the EU.
Why move halfway around the world when there’s a whole content of better pay at your doorstep?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•People outside the US, do you still consider America a democracy?
12·1 year agoThe power of the president did not start out like this. Congress kept giving their power to the executive for political reasons.
It happened over centuries.

World News@quokk.au•Tesla's latest decline could be one for the history books, JPMorgan analysts say
12·1 year agoI’ve been saying for a long time that Teslas ultimate fate was to become just a brand of one of the major OEMs. Unfortunately for Musk he has ruined the brand name and now the long term reality is they will end up being liquidated for patents only, when they fail to compete (by 2035 is my guess)
Up until recently they’ve had no real competition in the EV space, that has forever changed and Tesla has proven unable to adapt.
Musk sullying the brand and his reality distortion field failing will be the final nail in the coffin.

politics @lemmy.world•Trump-backing Muslim voters finally realize they 'made a big mistake': expert
1113·1 year ago“Not voting for the killers” is REALLY a stretch here.
Honestly if Palestine is your one and only policy, not voting was the right choice.
It was well known from Trump’s first term, and everything the man has ever said, that he would encourage attacks on Palestinians vs the Dems who simply stood by and let it happen.
There’s a big difference between not voting for someone who won’t help and actually voting for someone who hates you and will unapologeticly help your enemy kill you.
This is not my beautiful house, this is not my beautiful wife. HOW DID I GET HERE!!
I’m 46, I wish I could go to bed at 22 again.

That it didn’t coincide with a president starting trade wars with all our closest trading partners for no reason.
