Senior Chief Petty Officer. Starfleet is in my blood, and I’ve spent my entire adult life in service to boldly going.

Keiko and Molly are my favorite humans, but Transporter Room 3 will always be my favorite.

Just don’t ask who what’s in the pattern buffer.

  • I once ran a campaign of a game similar to D&D where one of the players had geared a character to be super charismatic and had an end goal of being able to persuade anyone to do anything.

She kept persuading the random side characters that helped them into joining, until they had a small army of Merry Men.

Yeah, the campaign took a back seat while they played Robin hood for awhile.

She started specifically targeting side npcs because I wanted to drop a character that was making my vocal chords hurt. They liked the npc because he was basically a child’s vision of a stereotypical pirate.

  • I have had managers send me emails telling me to ignore warehouse safety standards set by OSHA, regardless of what the warehouse personnel tell me when I’m there for the day.

Also had managers that recorded themselves breaking company safety rules and post to social media.

I’ve even had one manager that straight up pointed a gun at me in front of 3 cameras thinking it was a funny joking thing.

Never assume management has a single brain cell, let alone enough to realize when something probably shouldn’t be done or said.

  • I have forgotten about a concert after paying for the tickets, I have forgotten about super important plans and didn’t even send a text to the person I had them with until about 6 hours later (in fairness I never even got a text or call from them in that time, just a “where were you, I waited” when I called to apologize) and I have forgotten my entire wallet at a restaurant. Sat it down while waiting for my card back and put the card in my pocket and left the wallet on the table.

I have also unironically said this.

  • This is my only issue with having three dogs.

    I only have two hands.

So if I come home and they all want attention, I have to split pets between all of them in short intervals or they start pushing each other (and me) around trying to get attention. Or rather, the biggest one pushes in and the smaller two have to climb over themselves to get to my other hand.

  • That is crazy to me.

I hate driving in general, but will typically be okay with nearly doubling my travel time (up to like an hour) if it means I am in constant motion. So I’ll happily take small side streets and drive two small towns over and avoid a highway on the off chance that there’s a traffic jam. Some highways are almost guaranteed to be at a standstill at certain times anyway, but surprise stoppages always seems like a given when my wife and I travel more than a few hours from home.

It doesn’t seem like that’s an option to drive on non-highways, from the translation post, sadly. Fingers crossed they get the public transit sorted next year, and improve it for 2029. That sounds like a bad time for everyone.
