That is the job of your legislature, you would need to contact them. One way that might make them listen would be to gather signatures and to present a petition to your lawmakers. The lower down on the totem pole you go, the easier it will be to make change. If you go to your city council meeting, you could try to get them banned in your city, and that might snowball into something bigger. That’s the idea at least, in all likelihood it would not be that simple. The “grey” market exists because of the legal ambiguity and lack of enforcement behind banning these substances. Furthermore, after prohibition and now the disastrous war on drugs, banning substances isn’t a very popular position in many areas. Harm reduction initiatives and increased funding for education might be both more effective, and more popular. This all depends on where you live and your local politics.
Sorry for the loss of your friend, that really sucks.

Cool, so my gas prices are lower right?
Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny used to live alone in a boxcar. Now they have a home with their grandfather.
I loved that series and the Magic Tree House series.
A new Tolkien letter was discovered a few months ago. Which means the LoTR universe was updated before ASoIAF. The Professor dunking on Martin from the grave!

I love astronomy so much, I wish I had the mind of a physicist.
My concern is more on how shows like FF and murder podcasts treat major crimes as entertainment, it makes me uncomfortable.

Do you have a source for that claim?
Everything I’m reading is saying the opposite. AI can do what the self taught programmers can do, so the barrier to entry is higher, and degrees are more important in a post AI world.

Hmmm, then I guess my confusion is as follows:
College, like being good at Chess or Go, also shows dedication for years. But one is dedicated to learning applicable skills in certain academic fields, while the other is showing dedication in Chess or Go. AI can be used in both academia and gaming, so the real test would still come down to the interview process. I guess I don’t agree that dedication is the sole thing that is measured in an interview, or that being good at Chess or Go is a better metric of dedication than a college diploma. I think that adding a Chess or Go ranking on your resume could be a good ice breaker, and a good chance to show your dedication outside of academia, but I fail to see how it shows you are more dedicated to studying. And again while games are great for mental health, they don’t teach you anything other than the game itself (maybe some tangential soft skills in cost benefit analysis or risk assessment or something). But even then, those skills wouldn’t show up in a one off chess tournament at an interview. Further, a structured learning of those same skills culminating in a test of those skills with comparable metrics to others who have tested those skills, would give a better idea of how the applicant has mastered those skills, a la, a diploma.

Just because you surround yourself with the uneducated doesn’t mean everyone is. I’m in law school and some of the people here are truly brilliant, and yes they read. We all do, for hours, every single day. AI is there, I’m sure some use it. But the professors know about it as well and have pivoted. Lockdown browsers and handwritten exams are more common, and there are less take home exams than there were a few years ago.
this whole “I never went to college, so it must be useless” trope is annoying. Education is important, and “does it get you a job?” Should not be the benchmark for an education. Frankly we as a society would be way better off if we had a more educated populace. We need people who are critical thinkers, because critical thinking promotes intellectual independence. If you don’t have the skills to challenge authority with clarity, logic, and reasoning, you will be at the mercy of people who WILL tell you what to think. Studying subjects like History or Sociology teaches you how people think and why they might act differently, and allows you to approach problems from a broader understanding of the human condition.
Also a Chess or Go tournament will show recruiters how good an applicant is as Chess or Go. It won’t tell them anything else.

I’m not a carpenter, do those nail heads need to be flush?

No sane person would invest a nickel in that company.
So naturally it will be worth billions.
My entire family. They hate trump, they’re also convinced anybody further left would be worse.
If you have evidence of rape or unsolved major crimes you should report that to the police.
Otherwise, it’s up to you. Personally, I wouldn’t. You would be dead, so you don’t get to feel like you “won”. And chances are your memory will be tarnished far more than the people you accuse, especially if they are still alive to defend themselves.
If you really want to, I’m sure you could find a way to post on Facebook, but taking out a newspaper article or sending private letters post mortem would probably be easier to arrange.
I liked him at first, now I’m not sure. Obviously, since I’m here, I think there are flames under all the smoke. But at least some of the allegations of “circular reporting” also seem to be true.
Thanks for posting by the way, the UFO community is the one community I miss the most from Reddit.

I cannot.
I am a lawyer and the title makes zero sense. The article is an opinion piece talking about how massive cooperations “should” hire attorneys “just in case” there is litigation concerning quid pro quo between these massive cooperations and the trump administration. So, a maybe about a maybe about in-house council litigating against the government… Potentially. Why you, or I, or anybody else would “call their attorney” is totally beyond me. Thanks Politico for this shining example of modern journalism.
