I used to love the carlshops subreddit. I even contributed quite a few. Just Carl photoshopped into things.

10·4 days ago“Be asked to” it better be enforced. We already know how stupid people can be when their mild inconvenience may save others.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•Reform UK Candidate Shared Antisemitic and Anti-Muslim Posts And Campaigned for Far-Right Restore Britain
14·5 days agoWait wait wait.
You’re telling me that a REFORM candidate is (probably) a terrible excuse for a human being?!?!?!
This is unbelievable. Reform have only the highest standards and vet all of their candidates, to make sure they represent their (alleged) voter base.

I was there for my best friend when she came around from surgery. Thankfully it wasn’t a major surgery.
It was so delightful seeing her be so unapologetically happy. She kept forgetting I was in the room with her… And every time she was like “oh hey!!! So glad to see you” she swore undying love for the nurses, who couldn’t stop giggling.

Imagine thousands of years from now… Some future archeologist unearths one of those boob mouspads and it’s treated as an exquisite example of our design ethos… Not just a tacky novelty.
I want to believe that the original owner of this pot bought it because if was funny, and got chewed out by their relatives for being tasteless.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•Foreign Office cuts will weaken oversight of international law, MPs warn
3·10 days agoORDINARILY I would absolutely say that I agree with these MPs.
But, here we are.2026. international law is seemingly not even a suggestion any more.
You’ve got me thinking now. When I was in Tokyo over Christmas I went to use the toilets at a shopping centre. Just outside was a business that was quite clearly lesbian bar, and I’m fairly certain they had some very trans inclusive messaging on the outside. I also seem to recall it was a cafe during the day.
Going to be scratching my brain now for a while just to try and remember where it was to verify that it wasn’t just a fever dream.

United Kingdom@feddit.uk•Chip shops sell cheap catfish as 'traditional fish and chips'English
16·10 days agoThis has been a problem for years. I remember there only really being repercussions if it was catfish after the product was described as “cod and chips”
Biggest strictly speaking catfish is in fact a fish. And fish and chips, traditional or otherwise, isn’t particularly descriptive.

It is terrible this happened. I feel for them. I also feel for the thousands killed in Gaza. That we have directly or indirectly assisted in

UK Nature and Environment@feddit.uk•The dark side of the balloon boom – is it time they were banned?English
16·1 month agoI think the percentage of condoms that fly for miles and get tangled in trees and the like is much much smaller than balloons. I’d also argue that the protective nature of condoms versus the decorative nature of balloons makes the use of one of these more agree just than the other.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I almost got to try out my new quick clampEnglish
28·2 months agoI believe it might be one of the fundamental truths of the Buddha… You never have the correct number or types of clamps. Yet always have seemingly too many clamps to justify buying more.
So advice from someone who has erected a few garden buildings. Greenhouses included. Particularly on a clay rich soil.
Use the pre mixed high strength stuff:
As the clay dries under the greenhouse it will shrink and you want the concrete to be able.to survive a few small voids. The 40kn stuff has never let me.down.
Also, If at all possible. You may want to drive some stakes (even rebar would help) into the ground before you pour over.
The more work you put in now the better. A solid base will pay for itself in the long run! DM me if you have other questions.

❤️ you’re beautiful.
Cameras pretty sweet too 😊
