I’m not going to watch this video right now, but I think it’s easy to understand for plug in hybrids. 30km range on the battery is enough for your daily commute & you gain a lot of efficiency by not having to carry 500kg battery around.

5·4 days agoHow is this useful? Exploler still runs under it, updates still annoy the user to no end and ad popups can still happen. Perhaps most importantly MS can break compatibility at any time.

Gaming@beehaw.org•Microsoft is reportedly adding official Xbox and Xbox 360 emulation to PC
6·2 months agobut an official method would possibly be better.
This may not be true at all. Like some of these old emulators are essentially perfect, have not tried the xbox360 one, but ps2 emulation is perfect, for many titles it’s better than playing on the console once you are past the setup.
Like imagine if the official emulator required you to attach a dvd-drive to your computer & even then how would the copy protection detection even work? Will they just give up on this now?
Ferrets & foxes.
I don’t don’t think this is useful at all, if it only results in a next button occasionally popping up.

Gaming@beehaw.org•More than half of gamedev professionals see GenAI as harmful, according to GDC’s latest survey
31·3 months agoIt’s a logical conclusion of the present situation. No one will pay for grass or asphalt textures, when genai can produce more variety than any human asset artist ever could. In coding it’s a more complicated situation, but for certain tasks it’s almost dumb not to use ai. Even of you don’t use it to actually write code it’s still helpful to a varying degree.

5·3 months agoMy experience with cables is that they do matter, especially on the interconnect side, but price has very little to do with the perceived difference in fidelity or sound signature.
As for interference and shielding, yes this can indeed make a difference, but it’s rarely an issue unless we are trying to measure the noise floor, or using a really weirdly balanced levels. (like very quiet source attached to an amp that is cranked to max)
