O’Brien growing a spine would have involved calling out Republicans and their policies at the RNC.

The Republican Party, as it exists under the leadership of Donald J. Trump, is a party of and based around an ideology of bigotry, marginalization, oppression, and hatred.

O’Brien’s speech and this announcement serve as a tacit endorsement of that ideology. The leadership or the International Brotherhood of Teamsters is telling the world and the rank-and-file that the repressive, Neo-fascist ideology of Trumpism is at the very least acceptable to them.

There is zero chance that the right to organize survives a second Trump administration.

All O’Brien did here was throwing out female, PoC, immigrant, refugee, migrant, and LGBTQ+ brothers, sisters, and family under the bus.

I just put together one of the ten speed variant of these last night and rode it to work this morning. I was surprised by how much I like it so far.

I’m in a pretty hilly college town and had been riding a used 2019 Specialized Como that had been gifted to me. I had a very minor accident on it that cracked a shockingly narrow strip of aluminum that functioned as the motor mount. Any amount of torque made the crack expand and cause chain such. My mechanic called me to tell me it was unrepairable. His tone was so somber he sounded like he was giving me the bad results from a biopsy or something.

Anyway, that bike was my main vehicle. I had built my whole school and work schedule around being able to bike and I had to find a replacement fast.

The v3 seemed to be the best option for my very limited budget. Assembly was straight forward and I think it looks great. I was concerned about the motors power, but I made it up the hills on my ride to work without even turning the assist up half way.

Ride felt great. It honestly felt better than the Como which surprised me given the price difference. It was also really nice to be back riding something so much lighter than that fucking como. That thing weighed a ton.

So far so good.

My family was pretty poor growing up, but we had cable. Back in the day there would occasionally be free weekends of Disney Channel, HBO and the like. It sort of seems like the Star Wars version of the last 2 Ghostbusters movies. Which I didn’t hate, but also don’t really think of as good. They were fan service, and Star Wars has been way too over saturated with fan service as of late. There was so little of that in Andor and I think that’s one of the reasons the show worked so well. That and the fact that they actually put some effort and thought into the writing.
