Looks like San Antonio has churros and Talarico voters.

Agreed. If Crockett had more leftist ideals and political substance, she’d be a member of the squad. That is not what she is tho. I hope she stays fighting as a Rep and is supportive of initiatives coming from the left wing of the party.

Make choices that support the alternative economy. Find a CSA, use a credit union, use the library, support local businesses. Better yet, put money into things like the Cooperative Fund of the Northeast https://cooperativefund.org/
Correct. The system is supposed to encourage investment in efficient energy production so that it can sell energy at the level of the most expensive energy that is brought to market. Resources for the Future explains it like this:
The capacity market auction works as follows: generators set their bid price at an amount equal to the cost of keeping their plant available to operate if needed. Similar to the energy market, these bids are arranged from lowest to highest. Once the bids reach the required quantity that all the retailers collectively must acquire to meet expected peak demand plus a reserve margin, the market “clears”, or supply meets demand. At this point, generators that “cleared” the market, or were chosen to provide capacity, all receive the same clearing price which is determined by the bid price of the last generator used to meet demand.

There was an interview with an Olympian who said its not really that much of a hook up time. Its that you only get this one chance to take olympic condoms. So people just grab them as souvenirs. Who wouldn’t want to take home an olympic condom?

Agreed. People have known bitcoin has been used for illegal purposes from its inception. Nothing changes with proof that is has been used for illegal purposes.

Yep. If you can get in the habit of asking questions, listening, making a comment, and then asking follow up or tangential questions you’ll be in good shape.

Places. Where people grew up, where they have traveled, where they have lived. Maybe even where they would want to go. This leads to other topics and lets you talk about something not too personal to start.
Building is really the answer. I think one issue is that a landlord has more risk if they build than if they buy an existing property and rent it out. I think we need to restrict profit on established buildings and let landlords profit more off of new builds.

He said he had nothing to do with project 2025 tho.

Are there maps like this for other part of the world? I’d imagine Europe has a much lower rate of car commuting.

He only sees power. This is him saying that only Russia and China are powerful to him. Everyone else he thinks he can bully. It is insane. If he was a good politician, he could actually have open dialogue with Denmark and work together to develop resource extraction or shipping routes. But Trump has no idea of how to work with people.

There’s a difference in acting as if he is a serious person, and that the situation is serious. I hope those who have to deal with him understand how serious the situation is.

Definitely not a real picture. This is Milli Vanilli, who won a grammy in 1990 for best new group. They were then caught lipsyncing and it turned out their recorded songs were sung by different people too. One of the members passed away in 1998 of an overdose.
It is an incentive, just not price. People can choose to support a food system that provides a better living, less environmental damage, and other priorities. More people could choose that if they had more disposable income and I don’t fault people for defaulting to price when making purchasing decisions.

It would have been nice to see these NRA fools convicted of treason. Instead, the debate was about tax exempt status. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/nra-acted-as-russian-asset-in-run-up-to-2016-democratic-senator-says

We need to raise taxes until capital increases at a rate closer to wage gains. This is basically what Piketty talked about in Capital in the 21st Century.

There is much more nuance these days. Some anti-racist literature even says that we are all racist but that we can work on not being prejudice. These books will say that part of being anti-racist is seeing that racism exists in lots of ways and that we shouldn’t be denying that these things exist, we should be working on reducing the harm from it.
I doubt that Europeans are making healthier choices primarily from a bigger focus on education around food. I think they come across as better educated because they grew up with laws that encouraged certain food systems. I’d imagine they’d have an easier time naming the ingredients of the bread they eat than Americans could, due to laws. I think the education starts with the politics of the food system.
