Holy shit. it’s been a while and I guess I clicked the link or whatever – I thought it was on the hexbear front page and was like what… the fuck happened to this place?!?

Supposedly the captain called the harbor master (or whatever) like instantly when the ship lost power, and you can see the traffic stopped literally just in time, like it collapsed maybe 10 seconds after the last civilian vehicle cleared. In the clearest video on twitter, there appeared to be at least 4 vehicles from bridge/service workers up there when it collapsed. People on twitter were saying on of the people escaped unharmed, but Idk if that is true

There was a HB server for that war game where you could just make stuff for the supply lines the whole time (or something to that effect), maybe folks in there would play, will try to remember to edit if I can figure out the name

I guess the silver lining is that more people seem to be starting to realize those guys are evil insufferable pricks. Basically all my life before now, the narrative would have been twisted with “no, see, he’s *frugal and those behaviors are why he’s rich and everyone else should emulate this”

I have a question adjacent to this topic: Is it possible for someone (3rd party) to construct an elaborate tracking link that bounces through a server they themselves control – neither the site the link was posted on nor the destination, that also calls on a cookie or javascript function or something similar in the browser of the person who clicked it, in order to see who clicked it and what their destination was?

I ask this because back in ~2021 there were a few communist twitter accounts that DM’ed their followers a strange / extremely long URL, apparently after their accounts were hacked. The link redirected to IG where some people said they were logged in to an account that had their real identity associated with it, and it caused a bit of a stir, but I never heard anything more about it. I have always wondered about this since it happened

Not only that, I have noticed that it seems most of them are incapable of understanding metaphor, almost entirely. I believe that it’s related to to an inability or lack of desire to see things outside the frame of their own perspective, like comrade_pibb mentions in thier post above RE: art in film. Maybe it is also related to living in a state of constant, crippling fear.
