Quite frankly, this is the first mainstream superhero movie I’ve been excited for in years.

The genre has stagnated. From what I’ve read, the main criticisms of this movie stem from its lack of focus solely on Superman (AKA, it is a movie by James Gunn).

It may very well be trash, but I honestly think this is going to be more respectful to the IP and audience than most Marvel films released since Infinity War.

If Batman 2 is as good as the first, and Gunn’s version of Batman then harkens back to something like Batman 89 or Adam West Batman, I think that DC will be in the perfect spot to usher in their new cinema golden age.
