I don’t understand this argument, it’s like you’re trying to get me to justify this community when I already gave my reasons for disliking it.
I don’t need to have a metric for enjoying myself.

Haven’t read it. The man can’t end a story to save his life and his prose is pretty basic, but damn does he have some good lines. He’s got this genuine enthusiasm for everything he’s saying, especially when he wants to bring in a new concept, and that gets me hooked every time. You can tell he loves his characters.

No? That’s a weird thing to say.
People have been getting taller over time. Hawking didn’t book a big enough venue.
I love that book.

Posting the whole argument doesn’t support your statement about not stalking and harassing, is what I’m saying. I still don’t agree with the mod action.
I added that for context, to be aware of when making disparaging statements about eating meat.
I don’t understand the biological reasons myself. I know I feel like shit (sluggish, sick, can’t sleep) when I go more than a week without about 6-10oz of meat-based protein, which aligns with what the nutritionist told me. She said people like me need 1-2 chicken breasts a week to stay healthy.
I stick to low-impact meat products, rely on a couple hunter pals, and only buy what I can eat. I still eat a lot of fully vegan meals, vegan sausages, tempeh, and mix in a lot of vegetable protein to “beef up” traditionally meaty recipes. Avocados and beans and all that. I always have eggs for a quick “pick me up,” but they aren’t enough to fill the meat gap.
Cooking skills help. I probably wouldn’t have tried a vegan diet if not for that job, and probably wouldn’t have put as much work into figuring out my needs if I didn’t have some very cool, conscientious, knowledgable people around me, like that nutritionist. Not everyone knows why they feel/need the things they do. Like you, most of us are just trying our best.

Yep. Especially considering how many women have spoken out in support of competing with trans individuals.

Looks like you’re searching for people to agree with you on this debate and incite a brigade against this user.
You both have terrible arguments and the mod shouldn’t have removed your comments.
As an aside, I require animal protein. Not only have I been vegan/vegetarian at different times, but I was a chef in a vegan/vegetarian/raw restaurant and a vegan production kitchen. It took a long time, a doctor and a (vegan) nutritionist to figure out how much animal protein I need and how to limit my impact, so I’m not super cool with some of your comments about people who eat meat.

It’s only been a day. Some people have lives and work.

Take your upvote you tricky ragamuffin.

I just got a geiger counter. Let’s go find some together.

I take issue with insults and presenting curated screenshots as representative of communities, yes.

I was referring to another comment I made here. However, this was under the mistaken assumption that pugjesus was a mod here. I apologize for my confusion.

You know what? That’s my mistake. For whatever reason, I thought they were a mod here.
Regardless, posting the craziest parts of comment sections are no more representative of an instance than a single user represents a community. Basically any comment section over 30 comments is going to have some out-there ideas.
Having a community where people can openly call them “fascist bootlickers” for theories somewhat based on the context of the rest of the comments, that have nothing to do with fascism, is kinda nuts.

I bet mica is like a crisp german strudel.

I’m critically engaging and pugjesus downvoted both of my comments without responding. But they usually do, and I genuinely like to hear other people’s opinions — especially when they’re far different from mine.
Weird when a community that criticizes instances for authoritarianism and groupthink is… well…
And I’m saying you could find examples of people being nuts and having shitty opinions in every comment section, regardless of the instance. I see every instance from .today. I mean, if we’re going by upvotes my comments in the same section had 52, 49, and 35 upvotes. This one had 111. By your metric, that would be more representative of the community, right?
We could go and find all the most upvoted comments of every section screenshotted on .ml and post those instead, see what we find.
