___spannungsbogen@lemmy.worldtoOld School Cool@lemmy.world•Man recording a concert on cassette, Poland, 1980s3·1 year agoYeah, and you can tell just by the look on his face that this is serious business. He’s just got to hope nothing going wrong while it’s recording. I’d be so nervous about something breaking in the machine!
___spannungsbogen@lemmy.worldto Gay: News, Memes and Discussion@lemmy.world•30 days of blatant debauchery y'all!English6·1 year agoIt’s becoming a game for me to guess whether these commenters are being earnest or simply gay folk getting amped up for the season. This is a great sell, and I would in fact buy the t-shirt.

___spannungsbogen@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do Christians really think that being educated is sinful and should be avoided?7·1 year agoHoly cow, I remember these skinny books. Chick tracts, ey? Growing up, back when my folks were still fundies, we had a few on the bookshelf and I remember they were my first time seeing ‘nudes’ in print. I think the highlight was some dude who went to hell’s whole butt, nary a leaf in sight. Prior to that, there was only the carefully, tastefully covered parts of Adam and Eve for me.
Hilarious that my takeaway from these was just first sight of full butt.

Been using it a few months now and I wonder why I didn’t try it sooner.
By odd chance, I got turned onto Sturgill last month and I’ve had all the albums on repeat since. I had always liked the odd bluegrass or folk song, but never had a real in with country before this. Excited to check out the rest of this list!
Fingers crossed that one of these are still touring.

___spannungsbogen@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Anyone still remember Threads? No Twitter, No Threads, where are you guys now?English6·2 years agoI just saw a thing that a lot of furries have moved over to bluesky, which makes me think of the story how DVD won over the other one (betamax?) because porn was more commonly sold using that format. I could certainly be misremembering that anecdote but in any case, I think whichever social media handles NSFW content better will win out in the end.

I stopped engaging on Reddit years ago because even in the smaller subs it seemed like not as many people were there to talk anymore.

___spannungsbogen@lemmy.worldto Rimworld@lemmy.world•Is the DLC considered mandatory to play Rimworld these days?English2·2 years agoI would say absolutely not. Modlists and the DLC are just the frosting on the cake. I’ve been playing since 1.17 and was straight vanilla until very recently when I snagged up Biotech because I wanted generational arcs to the stories I was playing. Not to knock mods at all. I go absolutely buckwild with mods on other games. Base Rimworld simply scratches that itch all by itself.
Throw her on a hill and she’ll see that it’s way easier than she expects to find the catch. I’m also pretty high strung, generally speaking, and when I couldn’t get a hang of changing gears, the moment would devolve into sheer panic and make everything worse as I snubbed the engine with each attempt. And this was during parking lot practice with someone’s old car that they were planning on junking anyways, so no need for that level of stress whatsoever.
But then I was taken to a little incline where I could clearly /feel it/ for the first time and after that, I just “got it”.
