I think I started with gotify but struggled getting it working with one of my use cases and ntfy was able.

I don’t know if things have changed so I guess try both and see what best suits you

I personally chose ntfy over gotify and use it everywhere

I have zero trust in companies so i prefer flashing open source firmware on poe cameras, using open source nvr to record, Cameras are all on a no-internet vlan, One way firewall rule to view from my main vlan, Vpn to my house to view remotely.

Flash thingino on a supported camera and you have an open source firmware available with vpn support

Probably the federated nature of it… i know the whole point of it is decentralisation but with the likes of reddit or discord at least you could attempt to have all your content salted or deleted (whether it actually is is another story) from a single server. Knowing anything and everything you post on here will stick around forever no matter what you do, by design, makes me uneasy.
