hell yeah, brother (or sister, or sibling). even if you’re just using public trackers via torrent, films or series utilizing hdr should be available. I would also second MPV like others have said

Ah cool, I’ve played the first one and enjoyed it quite a bit. Wouldn’t be the first thing that comes to mind when I think of horror, but I get where you’re coming from. Reminds me of David Lynch stuff with it being unsettling and dreamlike, so kind of spooky.

I’ve given Signalis a go a couple of times and for some reason it hasn’t clicked for me. But maybe I’ll give it another try, thanks!

As in Remedy’s Control?

The Children of the Dead by Elfriede Jelinek is my number one. Second place is a tie between Women and Men by Joseph McElroy and The Tunnel by William H. Gass.

Looks like it could be up my alley, thanks for the rec!

We are born of the nut, made men by the nut, undone by the nut; Fear the old nut.

Started up a new save of Bloodborne on pc and talk about a fine wine. Unfortunately I kept on experiencing freezes/crashes via ShadPS4/BBLauncher, so I’ve put it down for the time being. I’ve heard about the newfangled decomp/recomp that lets you run it natively, but idk, I don’t really think that scene is for me.

Otherwise I’ve been chipping away at Dredge and am considering a new playthrough of The Case of the Golden Idol. Never got around to the DLC with the latter, but also just going back through the base game to see all of the artwork again sounds like a good time.

Also, if anyone has recommendations for horror games that aren’t Resident Evil or Silent Hill, I’d love to hear them. Can be action horror, survival horror, scary horror, cozy horror, and so on, I’m interested in it all.

Looking for a partner who is Debian on the streets and Arch in the sheets.

It was impatient of me, but I picked up Control: Resonant and, while it seems cool, I don’t think it’s the time for this game, so I’ll shelve it and come back to it at a later date. Right now I’m considering playing going through the Alan Wake games or buckling down and giving Baldur’s Gate 3 a fair shot. Much more likely, I might just spend my time modding the heck out of Resident Evil 4 (2005). Nobodies going to bingo on my watch.

Alright, looks like it’s my turn to be “that guy”, but as a certified, heavily medicated sad boi, I really can’t recommend Souls games enough. They’re tough, but they got me to redefine what success and personal improvement could look like and was slowly able to apply that to other facets of my life.

I didn’t finish the second Alan Wake, but I was kind of getting the impression that I was towards the back third or quarter of the game, but like you said, the gameplay didn’t really do too much for me and I eventually just got tired of playing it so I put it down. That being said, I do kind of have a hankering to pick it back up and give it a fair shot, especially with it being spooky season and Remedy being on my mind due to all of the buzz that the Control sequel has gotten.

Started another playthrough of the first Control. Just walking around blasting stuff with the melee push and watching how all the individual items react never gets old.

Not my favorite boss fight, but Micolash has a pretty cool arena.

Crow Country, hopefully Alan Wake 1 and 2, and maybe a bit of Resident Evil HD Remake.

Keeping tigers away is a more convincing argument.

I mentioned last week that I planned on being impatient with the release of Control Resonant, but that did not end up going well for me. Where I live has really shitty satellite internet, so in order to download most games I need to make a 1.5 hour drive to a family member’s beach house to take advantage of their sweet normal-world download speeds. Got there Tuesday, preloaded the game Wednesday, and was on my way by Thursday morning. Unfortunately, the devs pushed what was supposed to be an update/hotfix Thursday for the release of the game, but that got bungled and resulted in preloaded versions of the game being deleted automatically, which I found out about once I had made it home and got ready to boot up the game. Honestly, I wasn’t even mad, I knew patient gaming is the way and I chose to stray from that path. Oh well, way she goes, boys.

So now I’m kind of considering jumping ship on my plans for Control Resonant and instead doing a replay of some other Remedy games. Specifically Alan Wake Remastered, then Control, then Alan Wake 2. I’ve been meaning to replay the first Control for quite some time and the Alan Wakes should mesh nicely with the upcoming spooky season.

Additionally, I think I’m going to put an indefinite hold on buying games through Steam because GOG just lines up better with my values/interests and usually encourages a more patient approach to gaming.

And as far as what I’m going to play this week, I think it’s the perfect time to do another playthrough of Crow Country.

Life with hair was an illusion. Rid yourself of what remains and join us, brother.

You ever been to Silent Hill… on weed??

Moving on from streaming services was one of the better choices I’ve made and I’m happy I did it before all of this AI nonsense.

I browse for music on RateYourMusic. I give the music a listen using Soulseek. I buy the music through Bandcamp. I see the artist when they come to my town. Recently completed the pipeline for Osees and have Chat Pile and Los Thuthanaka coming up soon.

It’s a peaceful life.
