Books@lemmy.world•What book(s) are you currently reading or listening to? April 14English
2·1 month agoYeah, I am going to see if I can cheat. I have quite a few kids’ books which are very quick to read. I don’t read most of them, but do check out a few now and then to discuss them and understand how their tastes are changing. 😀 Let’s see if there are any that can get me Bingo!

1·3 months agoHaha, it has been quite a while since I read it, but I recall liking the original so might be worth a try with Zombies too.

Thoughtful Discussion@discuss.online•The Hidden Cost of AI Art: Brandon SandersonEnglish
1·3 months ago“Why read another human’s writing if an AI’s is better?”
I think that was the whole point, this is “the hidden cost of AI Art”. AI (or LLMs) might be able to compete (or supersede us) on the end-product level, but it can’t create “art”. If you don’t care about art, then the whole discussion doesn’t matter, but then it will cost us our growth as humans.

3·4 months agoI loved the Devabad Trilogy. Though I think that was mainly because of the setting. Just found out that she wrote a short stories collection in the series during covid. In case you want to read more after finishing the series.

No no, that is not how it works. We are going to expect at least three cards from you next year!
