I wish people said the same about me on a bad hair day - oh he’s probably young.

Brand New Sentence@lemmy.today•It is possible to passionately disagree about the subject of air fryersEnglish
7·7 days agoMaybe they were arguing over something else, and the air fryer was the threat?
Also, they might have a word for it but often marketing pushes the English word for products and so eventually it becomes the common word(s) to use, especially if the native word is not one typically used frequently.
Btw, luftfrityrsteker is the Norwegian word for air fryer.

2·9 days agoDitto, loved the first one. I went into it not knowing what to expect, but absolutely loved it. The animation style, the atmosphere, the story, all tied together so well.
Hopefully a sequel will do the first one justice.

You’re hired!
Klok som en ugle is an old Norwegian saying, that translates to wise as an owl, and it’s not hard to see why people figured them to be clever creatures.
Notice how it pretends to innocently be enjoying some grass, all the while its’ real mission is to monitor your every move.

51·11 days agoReminds me… back in the 90s I had two Miatas, one imported from Canada and one from the US. In the operating manuals, one difference that stood out in the US manual was the inclusion of a warning to not stand while driving.
Those poor Canadian Miata owners didn’t stand a chance, did they.
Exceptional, hu?
