    I dont think that is odd actually. Food just does not have a high status on your side of the family. It is something you do to avoid dying and not something you do to enjoy.

    When you make them nice food it is just the same as the bad food on the “gives me nutients” scale. The taste/enjoyment scale is never used to rate your food.

    I dont think that works. If i try the 5 ingredient set and get sick, i gained no information about ingrediences 6,7,8,9,10 (if there are 10 ingredients in total). If next i try set 3 and get sick, i have made 2 tries and still have 0 information. If ingredient 1 makes me sick i will need log(n) tries until i try the set that only contains ingredient 1. After that i have only one point of information because everything i tried so far was tainted by ingredient 1. I have to try everything again.

    Anytime you get sick you gain no information. If you are very lucky and ingedient 1-x are all harmless, then you will eliminate multiple at once. But if 1 is harmless, 2 makes you sick, and the next 1000 ingredients are harmelss you will still have to try log(1002) times to eliminate ingredient 2 and then you know nothing about 3-1003.

    Ich trink viel tee also wolte ich einen geilen Wasserkocher. Hab mir “arendo elegant” gehohlt. Ist innen drin ein perfekter edelstahl Zylinder ohne Heizspirale oder komische Ecken. Der Deckel ist groß genug das man mit der ganzen Hand rein kommt und beim Putzen überall hin kommt. Kein scheiß Kalk oder komische braune Ablagerung an stellen wo man nicht putzen kann.

    Hat auch noch extra features mit tempwraturvestellen etc aber das wichtige ist die Innenform!

    Diaclamer: never been to new york or any store that called itself a bodega.

    I think its similar to “all bodegas are corner shops but not all corner shops are bodegas”. They have unique features that group them closer to eachother than to most other corner stores. But they are still a corner store.

    All poodles are dogs but some people just prefer poodles.

    Ich glaube es ist ziemlich allgemeingültig, dass es keine zeit vor heute gab, wo es keine Sklaven gab. Und keine kultur der Vergangenheit war nicht Barbarisch nach unserem Verständniss. Wir können uns also drauf einigen das wir nichts aus der Vergangenheit cool finden und alles überbleibsel von bösen menschen ist. Oder wir lassen zu, dass wir ein paar sachen cool finden selbst wenn die Menschen nach heutigem Verständniss unmoralisch waren. Ich finde die Römer haben ein paar ziemlich krasse sachen gemacht. Und die find ich cool.

    Wenn deine Feinde denken sie sind unangreifbar weil da ein breiter fluss ist und die römer dann einfach in wenigen tagen eine brücke bauen, ein paar dörfer anzünden und wieder zurückgehen und dann die Brücke wieder abbauen, weil es für sie kein großes ding war … Was für ein Boss-Move. Was für krasse Ingeniöre hatten die bitte das die eine Rheinbrücke mal so schnell aus dem Ärmel schütteln können.

    Das krasse sind nicht die sklaven die die Gebaude bauen, das krasse sind die Technologien die da verwendet wurden. Egal wie viele sklaven du hast, alleine damit baust du kein Colloseum. Ich finde die Römer habem cooles zeig gemacht. Die inka haben cooles zeug gemacht. Die Mexica auch. Die Sumerer auch…

    License? I never mentioned licenses.

    Selling drugs is illegal because drugs are illegal. If a OS without age verification is illegal, then (depending on how stupid the laws are) having a site where you can download such a OS could also be declared illegal.

    Basically force all providers of OSs to include verification or block downloads to those states, or face fines for “distributing illegal software”.

    I am saying, if they are stupid enough to do X they might be stupid enough to try the even more stupid thing to achieve X.

    There exist only 14 different calendars.

    Jan 1= monday, Jan 1 = tuesday, …, Jan 1= sunday, and again the same 7 combinations for leap years.

    There is a difference for hollidays like easter that are based on the moon cycle, but just from the days of the week its only 14.

    I think we REALY NEED account migration tools. If let’s say 5 instances get big to cover 80-90% of all content (together) then those instances will get infiltrated. There will be venture capital trying to get in. And there will be government censorship/propaganda. The way to fix this is for people to leave those instances. But they will never do that if it means they loose all their posts/comments/likes/etc. The best thing the fediverse can do is encourage users to move instances frequently.
