I think “don’t use” posts are going to be much less effective than “use this instead of” posts. This type of post is just cathartic.

Well the thing is if they made it a train then they’d have to follow pesky safety regulations like having room in the tunnel for someone to escape an accident and ventilation in case of a fire or other release of toxic fumes.
The point isn’t to make a functional transportation system, it’s a grift to get taxpayer dollars into Musk’s pockets by giving Tesla more places to put cars they can’t sell otherwise.
Unrelated to the article itself, but god fucking damn is that website absolutely absurd. It looks like a shitty campaign website. The sad sad man changed the seal of the office and put an eagle (because books are lame I guess) and “free state of florida” at the bottom like that’s a real thing. Can’t believe this works on people.
Wouldn’t 2nd person be more like
“you decide to read the memo slowly…”
The snippet above read like 3rd person present tense to me, which is still definitely unusual.
If the bidet is pushing the water into your colon you either need to use lower pressure or do some butthole exercises to seal that fucker up.
You’re saying th AI bubble has popped because even more smaller companies and individuals are getting in on the action?
Thats kind of the definition of a bubble actually. When more and more people start trying to make money on a trend that doesn’t have that much real value in it. This happened with the dotcom bubble nearly the same. It wasn’t that the web/tech wasn’t valuable, it’s now the most valuable sector of the world economy, but at the time the bubble expanded more was being invested than it was worth because no one wanted to miss out and it was accessible enough almost anyone could try it out.
Are you really going to change the fuse in the receptacle when you plug a different cable in?
Low amp rated extension cords are dangerous unless they have a fuse in the cable. Best practice is to always use a cable that is rated higher than the circuit breakers.
Since movies take lots of time to make and being “finished” is an arbitrary decision made by the director and/or producer, it would be nearly impossible to pinpoint one as the last.
Kind of like a musician’s last song. Was it the last one they published, recorded, or wrote? What about the last song they half wrote or maybe recorded some partial demos?
If there are no consequences for cops lying then it will keep getting worse.
They want you to need them. If you don’t need them, you might be thinking independently. You might not go along with it when they want you to do unreasonable things.
But also
die - dies
If we’re talking about tools.
I’m confused, did it SMASH or did it crawl?
It’s not new, just getting worse, huh?
Yeah, what a terrible headline. Makes it sound like an event that happened that scientists saw, rather than an ongoing process that’s been happening for millions(?) of years and will continue long past the end of humanity.

Tldr: Publishers charge libraries more for ebooks and audiobooks than paper copies, and require annual license renewals. The Spokane library spends 1/3 of their annual budget on digital licensing.
No joke that’s why I don’t like heated seats except on the very lowest setting (which is till sometimes too high). Feels like sitting in a puddle of warm piss.
I just want vented seats for those days where the seat material gets so hot, because to get any decent features in most new cars you HAVE to get the “leather” instead of fabric.
Still waiting for NANO to become widespread 💀
The problem is that they are a cartel, so we get in a place where a group of private businesses can dictate who can make money.
I think it’s a great idea in theory that as a payment processor you can have influence on social changes. I think businesses should have clear ethics so that I can support those that match my own. If there were 50 processors to choose from that all had niches and different ethics, fine. But we have in reality one processor with finger puppets on asking us which puppet we like best.
What is the physics or math behind that? Light from the sun is essentially aligned by the time it reaches earth. If the mirror is perfectly reflective, a 10 m^2 mirror should light up a patch of Earth roughly 10 m^2 times the cosine of the angle of the mirror. So unless the angle is close to 90°, most of the losses would be from poor reflectivity.
I totally agree it’s a stupid idea. But maybe it’s even worse than I am thinking of?
