Get a second device, host a game on one of them, and play together with him. When he’s ready to solo he can start his own local game, and later you guys can start a server for longer term plans.

Nowhere Else To Share@sh.itjust.works•"focus stealing" ought to be a solved problem by now...English
131·2 months agoI prefer “focus follows mouse”. The pointer is my indicator to the computer as to where my attention is. If a window is not under the pointer, it shouldn’t have focus.

That’s a rational question. Unfortunately it won’t get the desired result, because the target audience is not going to behave rationally:
- The media that they consume is following the fascist playbook. They’re telling the audience that if things are not better yet, then it’s because there are others still left to blame, and the worse things get the harder those others are going to be blamed for it.
- Even if someone moves past that propaganda, it’s been ingrained into them that to accept being incorrect is to admit failure. They’ve been primed to dig in and double down, lest their peers see them as a failure, or even worse as others.

Enshittification@lemmy.world•Volvo is shipping dangerously buggy cars and this guy's had enough
52·11 months agoAsian cars have their own share of problems. Hyundai is well known for having horrible support, such as refusing to do repairs because a steel plate is scuffed (reported on by Louis Rossman) and delaying repairs because they’re using the available parts for new vehicles first (reported on by Technology Connections).
Similarly for NA manufacturers: Chevy had issues with their Bolt EV batteries, and majorly bungled the recall, in some cases taking years to replace them and telling customers “just park it outside in case it catches fire.”
Tesla has been accused of a whole bag of scummy tactics, fudging data and blaming customers in order to weasel out of warranty repairs.
Only Trip gets that privilege.
Counter argument on the Borg encounter: By accelerating the Federation encounter with the Borg, he likely prevented more suffering than had he not intervened, as it would have led to an unaware Federation not being prepared for Wolf 359. Yes, the Federation survived that just by the skin of their teeth, but they survived.
Those devices are going to be a legal nightmare in places that require two party consent for recordings.
I’d rather people use this than reuse the same password everywhere.

If your dad has a CPAP machine and still snores then it’s not doing its job. Either:
- He’s not using it
- He’s removing it halfway through the night
- The mask is not fitting well
Can’t help with the first case. In the second case, it can happen reflexively if the air is too warm or too dry. Is he using the humidifier feature?
For the fit part, he might want to try a different type of mask (eg nasal pillow if using a full mask or vice versa). Different types of masks may also be more convenient for certain sleep postures, which as you already discovered can make you more or less prone to snoring.
