It’s weird, I had a-fib recently and the hospital didn’t let me see a cardiologist. I asked several times in the 3 days I was there, and the answer was always no. Until they discharged me, and then it was “you should see a cardiologist ASAP.”

slings another owl curse word I’ve never heard before at me under his breath!
That’s amazing, both the way you put it and the fact that it happens :)
Huh, interesting. So many different ways of perceiving the world.
I was just reading about bridges so animals can move around the territories that got carved up by roads. The fish doorbell is fun too. It’s nice to see things going more in that direction.
Yeah, for sure. Or something from Futurama.

Oh, that’s great, thanks! Those feet look really strong.
Just from listening to the crows around here, I have to wonder if animals have more sthan we sometimes give them credit for. I used to think they just cawed, but they have a lot of nuanced sounds. Seems like more than a couple dozen, but it’s hard to say.

Absolutely. The technique has to be there, but something like this comes from the soul.
That’s a great picture. I love how you can see so many details in the feathers.

That sounds like it might be nice. Peaceful is the first word that comes to mind. I almost always have a lot of vivid sounds, pictures, shapes, textures, movements, even smells in my head. I can turn it off sometimes, but it’s work. I don’t think I’d give it up, but it can be a little overwhelming sometimes and often makes me feel like an odd duck.
Fascinating. If you hadn’t said that’s an eye, I might have guessed it was something from space.
Made me think of tigers, who apparently look green to the animals they hunt, since they can’t see red/orange. I wonder how owls see colors. And who eats them…maybe just other birds of prey?

I was hoping to find a video of him shredding something, but no luck. It’s a bit of a tease that they just show the coconut on the ground :) Must be a pretty powerful beak if he can tear that apart.
His chirps are very cute. Didn’t know they could make those sounds.
Slightly different recipe, but lots of pictures here.
The cake is pretty dark and has baking powder (not baking soda), so I think it’s probably Dutch processed. I also want to say that’s what you normally get at the store in Germany, even if they don’t use that word on the label.
Edit: if the label says it has potassium carbonate or potassium hydroxide, it’s Dutch processed.
A little vanilla or vanilla sugar would be good in the cream.
I’ve never used stabilizer because I didn’t know it was a thing. The trick is to get everything cold. Metal bowl and whisk, put them in the freezer for 30 minutes or so, and the cream too. Add some sugar, whip by hand, and work fast. The texture is unbeatable, but it doesn’t keep long. A day or maybe two, if whatever it’s in is well chilled. A cake like this wouldn’t last long around me :)

A really beautiful interpretation. I’ll have to listen to more of what he plays.
A little bit like dinosaurs, I guess :)

Crows are really smart. There’s a group that I’ve been feeding for a while. They absolutely talk to you and about you. They know which apartment I’m in, what car I drive, and where I tend to go. They’ll ask for food and are pretty good at communicating what they like and don’t like.
They go crazy for cat food and know what the bag looks like. One of them spotted me buying some recently and made a beeline for home. It was a big bag, and when I went to put it out, there were at least 30-40 crows circling overhead. When there’s less food, they only call a few of their friends over.

What do you like to do, or is there anything you’d want to try? I love going to concerts and hanging out in line all day. You can get talking and make friends for the day or longer, and people tend to really look out for each other. You bond over the music and the craziness of getting sunburned or rained on just to see a band you love.
I took rollerblading lessons for a while and met some great people. There’s a local art gallery that has classes and movie nights. Or hanging out with the neighbors at the community garden. There are other groups that meet to help out in the community or talk about [insert hobby here], but I haven’t gone yet.
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I have this idea that I could guess where things are under the floof, but I really don’t know. I’m always surprised how long their tails actually are.
No shock, and they did give me a blood thinner after the first night. If I had known what I know now, I might have tried to advocate for myself more, but unfortunately that doesn’t always help.
