It’s probably a reasonable price for the tech, but it’s kind of annoying to see VR get less affordable over time. I couldn’t justify buying the Valve Index just to play a handful of VR games, and I certainly can’t justify this.

I remember reading about this guy as a kid! I think it was either Highlights or Ask magazine.

That’s fair. I noodled around with nix scripting and started my homelab replacement in a VM for months before I committed to the switch. I feel like a lot of tutorials out there are kind of hand-holdy so you don’t really get to understand what some things mean.

On NixOS, you can just remove the services.xserver.videoDrivers and hardware.nvidia.open options and rebuild 😛

You could, but that info was still there. Schools and educational material taught us that blood was blue, Columbus discovered America, and animals were hot or cold blooded.

If we have a pair of aluminum straits and fire tankers at them, without observation you’ll find that the tankers will both get tolled on the left strait AND get stuck halfway through the right strait, preventing any other tankers from getting through.

As a nearly sole Linux user, this is a strength for Linux. The ability to complain about features and push for improvements is exactly what sets it apart from having to submit to profit motivations. Maybe they’re misguided, but I’d rather embrace it and chance at growing the community.
May I introduce you to the world of soft robotics 😏

I guess, same reason why we use Debian or Arch and not just LFS

It’s not as if Canonical hasn’t already enshittified. I don’t think going public is going to change that much.
Nah, it feels a lot more artistic and expressive than corporate-incentivized shorts. I’m here for it!
Seems more to me like they just got disillusioned by HR and they’re hesitant to be so trusting.
