1·4 years agoThe articles that are linked are not easy to read but I guess they are targeted towards someone who is more enlightened about the broader context.
I think this is generally a big red flag. If there is an important point, then it should be possible to explain it in a way that everyone understands. If they link that to someone who is new, they might do it on purpose to avoid any discussion.

Protip for watching Chinese movies: find the Chinese title (eg from Wikipedia), and search that on youtube. Usually you can find a subtitled version that way.

China@lemmygrad.ml•Palestinians v. Uyghurs — Naked Western Hypocrisy
1·5 years agoAll you do is keep throwing links at me which are easy to refute. But I wont do that, instead I will just give you one link: https://web.archive.org/web/20200829152829/https://docs.google.com/document/d/1d0lynghlCnR6Hs57pypEEhlhHczFVgaYX-TIZD61s_w/mobilebasic
I know that you probably wont read it. Just accept the fact that this is a controversial issue and I have a different opinion from yours.

1·5 years agoOkay thats good, but I still dont understand what the hell you are talking about. You keep talking about atrocities in China, but all you have shown are fake news. I am not “falling on the sword” and I am not gaining anything. I have simply investigated the issue and cone to a conclusion. If you disagree with my opinion, thats not my problem.

China@lemmygrad.ml•Palestinians v. Uyghurs — Naked Western Hypocrisy
1·5 years agoYou are literally spreading fake news right now: The Case of the Keriya Aitika Mosque. As for the wikipedia article, did you actually look at any of the sources? If you do, please let me know how many of them go back to the US funded lunatic Adrian Zenz.
I have a question for you, do you consider the massacre against Palestinians as a genocide? What about the Saudi slaughter in Yemen, or the brutal US occupation of Arabic countries in East Asia and Africa? Before you cry whataboutism, I simply want to know if you actually care about human rights, or just parrot the western narrative against its official enemies.

China@lemmygrad.ml•Palestinians v. Uyghurs — Naked Western Hypocrisy
1·5 years agoThere is plenty of evidence out there for mosque burnings and separations of families.
I didnt see that evidence, show it to me please.
You really trust that everything is rosey in there? How naive are you?
Interesting times we are in, where asking to see evidence for a crime makes you naive. I guess judges are also naive if they dont sentence people based on hearsay.

Communism@lemmygrad.ml•Are you active in a communist or leftist organisation?
1·6 years agoI’m just copying my reply from https://dev.lemmy.ml/post/37601
I’m currently in the process of joining my local communist youth. Its really cool, the people are nice and not at all like the stereotype if angry politics nerds. And compared to online leftist spaces, there isnt really any discussion on whether China or Cuba is communist or things like that. Its all about local organising, which is much more useful than arguing about countries on the other side of the world.
Even though I am completely new, they have already asked me to write a proposal about digital security, because I refuse to use things like Whatsapp, Google Hangouts or similar.
The only thing I can complain about is that all of them are quite busy, so they are quite slow at answering my questions, like how the party works or what exactly I am supposed to do during my premilitancy.
If there is a party near you, definitely contact them. If you dont get along with them, you can always decide not to join.
There is even a US military base in the middle of Seoul. And military police walks around (presumably to prevent their soldiers from being too violent against civilians). Also lots of night clubs in Seoul have signs that US soldiers are not allowed to enter.
I’m not into anime, but if you are then you should check out the one about Marx, from China.

Good post! I just want to add something to the following part:
A lot of westerners seem to believe that a revolution is something that begins at a certain time, and then ends after some time, but I dont think thats true. What they are thinking about is the transfer of state power from one group to another, and that can indeed be very fast (like we saw in Afghanistan). But revolution is a continuous process that doesnt really have a start or end. Revolution also doesnt necessarily mean picking up weapons and fighting the police. It can be as simple as organizing with other like-minded people, and analysing the local material conditions.
