Just watched that episode last night and I was so upset about it. This season has been rough so far.

Even if they were available only for a fee it would be absurdly low and still waived for people with low or no income.

Quake’s custom keyboard mapping settings (unique for the time) was a big development in gaming. One gamer’s personal settings config became popular and ultimately established the WASD control scheme that has been basically the standard since.

It was the first game that I eventually 100%ed. I was psyched to get it and be able to play it on steam and was surprised how much I remembered.
Mostly for nostalgic reasons, it’s one of my favorite games of all time.

I got 5 different sewing patterns printed, which ended up being 20 or so pages of 48"x48" sheets in color and it cost about $30. Priced it at fedex and it was running well over $100 (I think closer to 200 or 300 but I didn’t pay much attention after seeing how much it was at the libraries.
I have a small Canon b/w laserjet at home which has worked well for small projects but the libraries have been a huge help for anything outside standard letter size print jobs.
Wow. That is a beast. Definitely showcases some of the finer points of our weird language.
Agreed. It’s a great game. I wish it had more variability in puzzles or solutions to give it more replay value. I got it right when it came out and still feel like it’s too fresh in memory to go through it again.

We signed up for a private tour with a driver from Innsbruck and she was fantastic. Before our scheduled tour time, she walked us around the grounds, showed us some off-trail lookout points and we got amazing photos from it. It’s definitely worth spending a day there, and plan on walking around the town after seeing the castle, and leave time to check out one of the local restaurants for pretzels or brats and beer.

Lucille likes to sleep in very awkward positions
George thinks nobody notices when he slowly backs up and sits on my husband’s lap.

restingboredface@sh.itjust.worksto Funny@sh.itjust.works•I want to pull it backwards until it clicksEnglish4·2 个月前It’s absurd and hilarious and I love it.
But is it just a stock Tacoma with big wheels or did they do more body mods to it? It looks way smaller than even older style trucks like the bed was shortened or something but that could just be an illusion due to the size of the wheels.

Both times I was told to take ibuprofen beforehand, and that did absolutely nothing. But because it had been so bad the first time, with the second one I thought I’d be smart and took a vicodin I had from a prior procedure.
I still to lay in the room for 15 min after, trying not to vomit, and I nearly passed out. After , I walked to my car where I just sat there for 30 more min to rest. Even with vicodin it is the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life.
Not one ounce of sympathy or concern from anyone on staff.
It’s nice there are new guidelines, but I feel like it’s going to take more than that to make healthcare workers give a shit about this.
restingboredface@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Spotify caught hosting hundreds of fake podcasts that advertise selling drugsEnglish1·2 个月前I would also recommend Pandora. I’ve had a family plan for years so I don’t know for sure but there used to be a free (ad supported) tier that you could check out. And to reiterate comments from above, custom playlists and song/album play on demand is available (though some tracks are only available in discovery mode).
I love going to used music/movie stores. So much good stuff there that can’t be edited or de-streamed out of existence.

restingboredface@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Anthropic apologizes after one of its expert witnesses cited a fake article hallucinated by Claude in the company's legal battle with music publishersEnglish9·2 个月前This doesn’t appear as bad as some of the other ai legal stuff. Formatting references isn’t really about generating content as much as structuring it and AI (usually) doesn’t have the kind of problems with hallucinations when just tasked with reorganizing data. I’ve used GPT for reformatting references to APA style and it worked really well. I’m surprised Claude couldn’t handle this task.
Also bummed that there doesn’t appear to be a book called a statisticians guide to making inferences with noisy data, because that sounds like a book worth checking out.
restingboredface@sh.itjust.worksto News@lemmy.world•Singer Chris Brown charged in UK for alleged attack at London club in 2023 | CNNEnglish1·2 个月前There was a tweet going around reddit awhile back where someone made a joke (presumably) that chris brown was so hot he could beat her all he wanted. Its mind-boggling how brainless some people are.
That is the nicest cat sofa I’ve ever seen.
I played the hell put of Freecell back in the day. Started going through the seeds in order, and over the course of about 2 years I made it through 1500 or so.
I should pick that up again. Only got about 30000 or so games left to finish the whole thing…
So, a shitton of game developers just got laid off from Microsoft, another in a string of “restructuring” nonsense that’s been rampant in the industry.
That’s a lot of people with gaming expertise who could be put to work helping companies transition their games to single player experiences or at least making them accessible to customers after support stops. If the EU ends up pushing this forward, there’s a decent business opportunity in there.
