I do suspect they regretted it, but some of them probally finds ways to get out early, sometimes legal systems will literally hand certain prosecuted criminals ways out. Where would you want the tax dollars to go? Not specifically what you want remove, but if from scratch where would you prefer to have the tax dollars directed at. Surely public funded services are beneficial to everyone that uses them? Like libraries.

Even if you use bitcoin, that shouldn’t mean you are going to be directly spending less on expensive products like eggs, or new more expensive products. Oh sure you might save like 2% on taxes on items you purchase. Filing taxes, you might have some savings there too, but it’s likely minimal compared to how much you are actually spending on other things.

The issue at hand realistically is the prices and not making enough. So since taxes are minimal, it should be difficult to just work or to find better economic rates. Sometimes you’l have to prove your value or skills to a company and that’s fine, that’s how the world is currently.

Protesters are saying the same thing about maga essentially, that maga is very similar for how people fell for Nazi bs in Germany. Why does it seem however there are more of these protesters then the maga protesters. These protesters aren’t just vocal but are usually in large numbers of them that support this. Tesla’s do add trauma to minorities and others/ allies lives because of what Elon and Trump stand for compared to what they stand for. If they see a whole road field with Tesla’s that probably affects people the hardest, compared to it being just a smaller few Tesla’s in another road.

These protesters, do not want any nazi getting influence. So they’l likely act quickly with a lot of emotion out burst without thinking things through or having empathy for others.

However by targeting cars that were already bought, they’re not putting much of a dent in Elon’s sales. For actual change they should change where they are targeting. Such as car dealerships. For their cause they get two in one, reducing Elon’s possible profits and not potentially hurting innocent people. Fires can spread to other houses if left unattended and that can be so dangerous.

I’m not saying that conservatives were doing all that going vegan and etc but they were some churches that took Christians to camps and etc, they had evs with TV’s in it they’d watch movies off of the evs power on the way to and from the campsites. I would rather protesters go after the Tesla cars if they were out to be sold through retail rather then after someones expensive personal purchase. It would make more sense since you’d be hurting the company and none of the innocent costumers in the middle of it. While I can’t say whether i’m for Elon musk, I do think that civilians should be left out of explosions which risk happening from setting the cars on fire, and fire can spread.

Setting random tesla’s on fire have a risk of spreading to other peoples cars if no one tries to set out the fire and just leaves it. It can end up hurting minorities in the process that you would think they were trying to protect.

So i’m not saying that being against elon is wrong, 1st amendment thing, but rather the way sometimes they seem to go about it, and how setting random strangers purchased tesla’s risks hurts more innocent bystanders even beyond just the household that might own the car after purchase, not just costumers the neighbors of the costumers, who may or may not be minorities that they are advocating for. Fire spread if left unattended. Very dangerous, it can affect anyone negativly doesn’t matter who the neighbors are, or their personal beliefs.

It’s one thing if a person has a distaste for musk, but destroying someones property (a Tesla) after they buy a car, which seems to be a common trend. There are people that buy cars that probably don’t pay attention to politics and have no idea about Elon Musk, but just know that Trump is president. I just feel if you’re trying to target Musk, that isn’t really winning you any favors destroying the cars that people bought.

The action of beating of any person based strictly on their race alone is hopefully unpopular, but the teacher’s actions probably (I hadn’t read the article yet.) was not due to the students race but the maga hat they were wearing, and publicly displaying. (I seen this story too many times I just know thee’s a good percent chance that could be the reasoning.)

and also what that hats movement meant to that teacher probably had an impact on the teachers actions. Their feeling against the maga movement and everything maga stands against, brought it out of this teacher.

How can Lemmy or Mastodon become more centralized like email, if it is the users who are signing up to the top largest servers. Users naturally might be attracted to servers with higher user counts.

I don’t think Trump would pick a safe place for you to be deported to because as I seen from some of the statements from the organization and supporters, if they were to deport someone this administration may consider them as some of the worse.

That’s what I was getting at when I was saying “deported to some country Trump had happened to pick for you.” So even if you know of places that might be safe places to get deported to, that doesn’t mean that’s where the Trump Administration might deport someone.

Someone should take this stance to the supreme court or to a judge because this just screams obviously, as a 1st amendment violation since it is coming directly from the government, rather then strictly from private a social media platform.

If users go to the defualt server, while things are federated, Mastodon and Lemmy already did their service by using activity pub.

It just seems like possibly we need to more so, educate users why going to the largest server could be a negative thing potentially leading to a monopoly. On one note, Lemmy.world isn’t a defualt server, while lemmy.ml was. So at least Lemmy is doing better in that regard while Mastodon.social, a default/official server from the original devs of Mastodon, could prove being even more concentrating them the trend on Lemmy where users might g to lemmy.world.

Ideally I’d like to see all types of different servers have user activity, but with a low user count, to make this more liley to happen the word about Fediverse needs to be advertised and spread around. So more people can discover it.

If you completely repeal section 230, this would ultimately make moderating Nazi content on a Lemmy instance illegal, since if something illegal doesn’t get taken down but others do said Fediverse servers would be looked at as a publisher not a platform. So by “getting your revenge on Facebook and X” in this way you are only downgrading your selves in the process.
