If you’ve only experienced french protests through international medias, you probably have a very skewed view of both the actual damage they create and their effectiveness.

That still doesn’t mean french cops are not also dangerous during protests. I’m not trying to say they’re more dangerous than your brown shirts, I’m saying that protesting also isn’t risk free in France, and claiming that french cops follow the rules is simply incorrect.
If you think french cops follow the manual I have a bridge to sell you

5·25 days agoI couldn’t find any particular justification going through their website and other communication, it’s not perfect but it’s probably not that big a deal for an open source project to host their code there? If I remember I’ll try to send them a message asking about it
“I’m feeling lucky” or something like that?

You are allowed proportional force in defending yourself, so if Timmy tries to hit you you are indeed allowed to hit him back insofar as it pertains to stopping harm being done to you or others.

3·1 month agoThe existence of crime is not a proof of the inexistence of law. Not that I disagree with the general sentiment that international law is applied to the convenience of whoever is stronger, but the US doing something wrong and not getting punished for it has very little to do with France doing something specifically allowed

5·2 months agoAs for going across the country, that is directly addressed, France is very small compared to the entirety of the US.
My point is that french people don’t travel to protests, they’re local events by and large. You don’t need to travel far away to participate. You don’t need to go to Minnesota to protest ICE killing people.
I’ll skip the part where you’re acting like a xenophobic asshole, I choose to believe you are only upset about the situation, and simply wish you best of luck in your struggles.

Europe@feddit.org•France: working with allies on plan should US make move on GreenlandEnglish
3·2 months ago290 is plenty enough to reduce the USA population centers to rubbles I’d think. They may be developing interceptors against ICBMs, but multiple countries, France included, are also developing things like hypersonic glide delivery vehicles that are even harder to intercept, so I don’t think it changes the equation much.

1·2 months agoAs far as I am aware, the legal definition came after the concept was academically discussed. I don’t think discussing forms of wage thefts that are not currently under the legal definition (of which law, even?) is to the detriment of anyone except unscrupulous bosses.
