With Hurricane Helene out of the way, Crew-9 is back outside at pad 40. Shown below are two of the critical teams that support launch at the Cape. Both the Safety and Pad teams work 24/7, 365 to keep the machine running and our team safe. A huge thank you to the men and women of SpaceX for their dedication to making life multi planetary!!!

My apologies :) Is there a recommended LOTR community for more serious non-meme discussion?
unlike SpaceX , they haven’t blown up 2 entire rockets to do it, which saves my tax dollars
Haven’t SpaceX done all of those tests on their own dime? I’m pretty sure all of their government contracts are fixed-price, not cost-plus.

I’m not sure if the Bluebird sats have laser links, but the Starlink sats do. I think as launch costs continue to decrease, we’ll probably see larger antennas in space and smaller antennas on the ground.
Ah, makes sense! Glad to hear that battery tech is approaching the level where short-haul aviation is viable.
I’m curious why long-haul aviation is easier than short-haul aviation according to this chart. Why would that be the case?
I came across this interesting video and thought folks here might enjoy it as well. I was not aware of the changes between the DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4K releases.

Didn’t Netscape sort of become Firefox?
Thanks for sharing this story.
Did XP not have a “right-click, close all windows” option? If not, I’m pretty sure it had a task manager where all IE processes could have been killed at once :)
