Well both founding documents for the confederacy (the provisional and constitution of confederate states) name slavery as being a right and is listed at the forefront of the documents, not to mention of the 4 official declarations of succession from (SC MS TX GA) all mention slavery in the first words, the states who did ordinances of succession instead, all also mention slavery with in the first paragraphs. It is in their own words. The civil war was about slavery.
Not arguing that at all. Slavery was the primary reason, but much more was going on.
