Never had any luck growing carrots because our soil is such heavy clay. But I chucked a few potato skins near my budgies’ graves when the compost bin was full and even after digging the plants up the first year, they just keep growing back and as long as I water them, they provide a decent harvest without any effort.

If I bought proper seed potatoes to grow, they probably wouldn’t.
