    The whole thing in plain English:

    I’m not easily scared, I’ve done dumb stuff on bikes before. But riding through a foggy mountain valley at night is creepy, and if a huge deer suddenly appears out of the mist, you don’t gun it—you creep along until you’re sure it’s safe, then you floor it and escape.

          A narrow passage between big mountains or hills. People live there, there’s typically a creek running through. “Holler” is maybe unique to the Appalachian mountains, especially Kentucky
