    People aren’t likely to go hitting every deer they can find with their car. People have, and still will, depopulate entire native species if given half a chance and an inconvenience involving that species.

    The deer are just deer. I did some crazy things on a 250cc motorcycle but rolling through a holler in the fog, you might meet some giant fucker with antlers all over. This is why you proceed carefully and slowly until you know it’s time to get the fuck out.

      The whole thing in plain English:

      I’m not easily scared, I’ve done dumb stuff on bikes before. But riding through a foggy mountain valley at night is creepy, and if a huge deer suddenly appears out of the mist, you don’t gun it—you creep along until you’re sure it’s safe, then you floor it and escape.

            A narrow passage between big mountains or hills. People live there, there’s typically a creek running through. “Holler” is maybe unique to the Appalachian mountains, especially Kentucky
