Just can’t watch them. I watch a lot of movies, and not just mainstream. European movies, Arabic movies, the occasional Bollywood movie, but I can’t sit through an A24. It is just cheap, pretentious, kitsch, artsy shit.
The colours are always off, the sound and music is horrendous, the shooting, the lighting, the stories.
Just tried again with Onslaught and had to delete it after 20 minutes. I rather watch any Asylum movie than this crap.
I feel like they have high standards, but they generally focus on high quality talent only and aren’t trying to chase trends. They are the studio to go to when you want to make something weird and no other studio will give you money. Since A24 movies are relatively cheap to make, they choose to gamble on big swings since one successful movie can cover for two bad ones.
