The idea that we are entering an era of techno-feudalism that will be worse than capitalism is chilling and controversial. We asked former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis to elucidate this idea, explain how we got here, and map out some alternatives.
I would say it is more Silicon Sharecropping. You still needed to take care of your serfs in some form to keep the crops harvested. In contrast, it didn’t matter as much if a sharecropper died or became maimed, as you could find a new sharecropper for the next season.
So we really are just slaves to capitalism
