It’s hard not to see the comparison when you posted this meme literally right after a post in the same format with a similar title addressing this issue in China.

edit: the reason i made the post was your title “why would the west do this,” and its implication that the west wouldn’t. the west does this shit. china does this shit. comparing oppression is a race to the bottom. being anti-fascist and loving your queer neighbors is universal.

The title wasn’t meant that the West doesn’t have problems with homophobia, the title was mocking the tendency of certain political groups to blame the actions of foreign actors on the West. Such as “The West made Russia invade Ukraine” or “Other countries are only homophobic as a response to Western oppression”
