I’ve been re-inspired by some immigrant coworkers to affirm something I already suspected: having bigger households with multiple working people in them makes surviving and saving way easier ($3 million Retirement Thread looms menacingly). Like why would people be booking up with randoms when there’s COVID and Monkeypox around. This isn’t even getting into other STDs and STIs, how many people still don’t like using condoms, etc.

Also younger people haven’t fallen for the bs that claims hooking up and having tonnes of sexual partners is somehow inherently more liberating than more long term relationships. Liberation is choosing what you want and being able to carry it out.
