My fiancée has passed her citizenship test and is now just waiting for the invite for the formal ceremony. And in the same week, her sister has received final exam results and is all good to graduate later this year. And we’ve got Paramore tickets for when they’re coming to Sydney in late November.

So it’s been a good week.

Today I’m back to work, and I guess tonight is the one night of normal before the weekend chaos starts tomorrow night.

No kids, just lots of things.

Friday night will have to be something special for the citizenship + graduation (but small since we still have the actual events yet to come).

Friends have a 1yo birthday party on Saturday for a late lunch, and then dinner plans with some other friends about 30km the other direction. Then some other social things on Sunday.

The next two weekends are all clear at the moment, so we’ve got that.

How are we all? I’m just about to put dinner on for the cats and dog until my wife comes home so we can make dinner together (I’m technically still at work until 8PM).

Anyone else hear the news about El Niño? I’m definitely happy for it right now as I’m sick of the damn rain, but come Summer it’s probably gonna wreak havoc on the bush. I really hope the firies have enough funding to do all of the backburn work we need before then because I’m not keen for another Black Summer.

I had a frustrating day with some work that took way longer then it needed to. It happens.

We’re having home made pizzas 🍕. We’re late eaters here. I think we might watch a bit of Bullitt. I vaguely remember seeing it but I was reminded that it’s all about corrupt government officials.and maybe dirty cops too or something like that.

Might try and find something to read for a bit to unwind.

I have no projects at work and my manager is at some workshop for 3 days. I guess I can go to the gym when it’s not crowded.

Anyone know a good place to work a few hours? I work from home but getting tired of looking at my wall so a change of scenery would be nice, although I’m not sure I’m ready to pay for a coworking space.

Library? As long as you don’t have to take calls, it’s quiet, but there’s still other people around. Even head into the city to the State Library if you want to feel extra fancy about your new office 😁

I tried my local library today but there’s an older guy who was on the phone the entire time haha. I thought libraries are supposed to be quiet… not a big deal cos I can wear headphones, just unexpected. It was also more crowded than expected. I’ll try different libraries next week.
