The “Don’t Tread On Me” Gadsden flag represents the US colonies uniting against monarchic tyranny and despotism from Great Britain.

This flag is implying monarchies can simply bend over anyone they want anywhere and properly fuck them without giving the courtesy of a reach-around.

this is the most generous possible interpretation of the gadsden, while ignoring its current usage, as well as ignoring the anti-authoritarian meaning behind the sabocat, and red/black scheme.

ps: the American revolution was a lateral move, replacing a hereditary monarchy with a dictatorship of capital. The ‘founding fathers’ were their time’s equivalent of musk and bezos, and they explicitly wanted to protect the interest of the capital owning class from the will of the working class and those humans who they kept as property.

          How so?

Meaning of symbols and words evolves over time. Swastica is originaly Hindu good luck charm, but defending it’s use in the West with it is utter nonsense. Same with Gadsden flag. Once it was (arguebly, Founding Fathers were a bunch of rich landowners) a symbol of fighting oppression, but it has been approprieted by far right

That is sad to see the modern use and interpretation of the Gadsden flag. I fly one next to my Pride flag outside my house to piss off the extremist dipshits that drive by.

I dont think its doing what you think its doing… if it means something to you then more power to you. If your only doing it to piss of right wing conservatives… That’s probably not what its doing.

You knew the modern interpretation because you fly it next to your pride flag, but still asked what it means now? Confusing interaction.

I never knew the modern interpretation, I flew it because I interpreted the flag as something that represents individualism. I guess I’ll fly my Satanic flag next to it to further signal the idea of individualism to others that drive by my house.

I never knew about the origin of the flag but I always see it used by ancaps and other far right groups.

This flag is implying monarchies can simply bend over anyone they want anywhere and properly fuck them without giving the courtesy of a reach-around.

The red and black colors and the black cat arching its back are anarchist symbols.

Anarcho-syndicalism specifically; which is very much anathema to anarcho-capitalism.

Agreed. This is fuel for Fox News. Not a rallying cry. I would rather adopt that flag instead.

Black and red is anarcho-communism, snake skeleton is allusion to Gadsden flag (“don’t thread on me” aka “no step on snek”). Not sure what cat relates to
