    EVs cost taxpayers 32 thousand dollars per vehicle

    Bullshit. Yes, I see that paper and most of that cost is for infrastructure and supply chain development, to attempt building a US industry. There’s also a relatively small amount to build out charging networks. Do we count the cost of roads and highways, drilling and exploration, pipelines and shipping, Middle East wars in the cost of subsidies to gasoline cars?

    That paper also said that if we didn’t care about building the industry in the US, let GM and Ford go out of business, and only about transitioning to EVs, it was generating $1.87 in economic activity for every $1 investment. EV subsidies are already profitable for the country and subsidizing building a US manufacturing base
