Those who set it on a path to full-scale war with Russia did.

One step closer to the mainstream western media finally admitting it. We’re not there quite yet, but with the recent piece in The Hill and now this one in AJ - both of which are peripheral to the core mainstream media, AJ being funded by Qatar which is a US proxy, and the author of this piece being a former long time BBC journalist - saying these things, i think it’s only a matter of time before the dam really breaks.

    Another good article pointing the same direction, featuring an interview with a German diplomat.

    I’m interested to see how U.S. libs handle the inevitable lover’s peace and the “uh actually Ukraine is corrupt as hell and no one wants to keep giving them money now that they’ve served their purpose” that will follow on its heels. There will be all sorts of threads in that conversation:

    • Libs will largely blame the loss on Trump, but some won’t, and people who aren’t mainlining politics won’t buy it at all
    • Libs will have to square the three years of holding up Zelensky as a hero with all the “he’s actually been corrupt this whole time” reporting that will come out
    • Libs can’t hate on the peace terms too much, because they’ll have to shoehorn in “all those deaths kept Putin from taking over Ukraine wholesale and liquidating its population” and “all those deaths kept the rest of Europe safe”

      I think that just continuing to state that Trump caused Ukraine to lose will be the most common position taken. It absolves the once Ukraine-supporters of any moral or logical responsibility while simultaneously criticizing Trump more. Liberals aren’t normally known for keeping in mind the circumstances of an event but love to ascribe everything to one specific occurrence.
