That’s not actually the influence, the New Jersey State Police Class A Uniform and lots of Nazi attire are both directly taken from cavalry uniforms. Specifically the romanticized period of cavalry before WW1. The NJSP uniform has been more or less the same since the 1920’s.

The KKK hood is just a damn sheet with holes in it and the Confederate hat is the same the Union’s but gray instead of blue.
