What a perfect little day. My uni meeting got cancelled and the ground floor unit had really loud renovations; I just had to get out of there…
today's jaunt
…so first I drove to Carlton North, picked up some lovely pastries, and took them to the office on my day off to share with the few people around for morning tea. This was incredibly well-received. Then made impromptu plans to go to the Yayoi Kusama exhibition with a friend who left work early. Got in at 1:45pm. It was better than I thought (I didn’t think much of her pop art and I hate queues and hype but the crowd was not too bad; honestly I preferred her older stuff and I definitely liked that I could see the evolution towards her current style. I appreciate it a lot more now).
Then we went to Yamamoto Udon near Paramount Food Court - exquisitely chilled-out and relaxing between 4-5pm - I had a prawn curry bisque udon and a very yummy Sino-Japanese style squid side dish. My friend got sliced scallops (?) with garlic shoots. All very delicious and the hot and hearty udon was just what I needed on a cold day.
And then we decided on the spot to go watch The Cats of Gokogu Shrine at Kino where, just my luck, it was happy hour. One $6 glass of Shiraz and a super relaxing/healing movie later, I am on the tram home. My cup is nice and full. ☺️
… Good thing I have absolutely nothing planned for the weekend, guess now that I’ve had such a beautiful day I’ll have enough in the tank to crack on with a bit of uni desktop work and chores.

ooh that looks delicious.
That sounds like such a lovely day!
I enjoyed the kusama exhibition, but was pretty overwhelmed by the end of it. Don’t think the weekend crowds helped
