I never understood why Neelix didn’t have an existential breakdown over his mortality in this episode. When it took until he got assimilated by Seven to trigger him lol.
Imma go with self delusion and toxic positivity that needed a little more time to whittle down.
It was Tuvix’s mortality that was the problem
