Wow, Lando very cold headed in the situation there to immediately realize that it was solely his own mistake and also say so on the radio

They aren’t going to show that trailer the whole race right? Super annoying, makes me actively not want to watch that movie.

The aim of the movie would be to be interesting for the general population, for people who actually watch F1, I can almost guarantee the movie will be terrible because of how many thigns they will get completely wrong

I was wondering if that was some AR thing just for the TV audience.

It seemed way too crisp and clear a picture from those screens which are for the people in the stands. I caught glimpses of the other screens and they didn’t look that clear. Plus every time it was on it showed that exact same moment with the date each and every time.

Yeah once you start noticing the digital ads, it gets super annoying super fast. Like in Monaco with the big “screen” in the tunnel, it looked so obviously fake.

The tracking often isn’t perfect and you can see things like heat haze being cut off by the ads. There are so many ads on screen, once you notice it.

Looks like when they moved the camera to show where Albon parked, they lost the digital ad tracking. So the overlay is gone, at least for now.

I thought it was strange they all slowed down considerably around that turn during the formation lap, but maybe it’s not very strange at all.

Maybe. But we’ve seen this time and time again. Norris is really fast, maybe a bit faster than Piastri but he loses it under pressure

You summed it up perfectly. Except as time goes on, Norris’s speed advantage in quali is diminishing. Piastri gets the championship unless the general team pace drops

So, did Russell actually goad Max into overtaking under safety car? Or was Max just sleeping?

Because the leading driver is free to break as long as he is within the Perez distance

I think Russell was keeping heat in his tyres by braking hard and accelerating again. Verstappen was just following at a constant speed and was caught out a bit by what Russell was doing.

I thought Russell was ok. He did brake, but it didn’t seem egregious. Verstappen was already nearly alongside even before that, which didn’t help him

Russell absolutely tried to get a penalty for Max. It’s pretty obvious from his driver cam. You don’t drive up the ass of the safety car, signal them to go faster and then slow down when the safety car speeds up.

Just seen the replay. That was a good move, especially since he’s still so new to F1

If Verstappen would drive respectfully under safety car like everyone else, he wouldn’t have accidentally overtaken there.

Yeah, not gonna deny it, Russell definitely intentionally baited him into it, but Verstappen always drives dangerously close under safety car, he created the situation.

My stream cut out just after that, so I’ll have to wait to see replays and see if there’s a penalty. Could even be a race ban for Verstappen which I would find hilarious (I think he’s only one penalty point away from a ban, right?)

Would be stupid if he gets a penalty for that, look at how fast the safety car disappears. Russel braked really hard there, that was 100% intentional.

Someone hit a groundhog near turn 10. It’s in a DRS zone, might get hit again if someone tries to pass there…

Must have been Hamilton complaining about car damage. He definitely didn’t hit a wall or anything.

Yeah perhaps, his pace is nowhere again. I would have to check his on boards after the race, but I haven’t seen him picking up any damage. He is just slow.

But I also wonder if they made the agreement if any wildlife is hit, not to focus on it. Since they haven’t mentioned it at all.

Bit harsh defending from Piastri against his teammate, but the crash was 100% on Norris. Good on him that he was quick to recognize it though, a lot of drivers would’ve been a lot less nice on the radio after that

He should defend as hardly as possible within the limits of the rules.

His teammate or not Norris is his biggest threat right now

In order to do a 1 stop, you’d need to make it at least 45 laps on a hard. LeClerc and Albion are being crazy wanting a1stop when everyone’s getting more deg than they expected.
