So it’s just an amp version of the gov.uk website? I assume so because after reading the article I’m no clearer on what the point of this app is actually supposed to be. Apparently I can customise it, a feature that I’ve got to be honest I’ve never felt was missing from the website.
I actually think the gov.uk website is really quite good. Certainly a lot easier than it used to be with all of the services and departments having their own website, I’ve never really felt an app is necessary.
“Later this year, the government’s generative AI chatbot – GOV.UK Chat – will be added for everyone to use”
Can it not? 🙄
‘Can’t wait’ for the inevitable controversy when the official government chat bot tells someone to do something illegal, or gives dangerous advice leading to a death.
Make it say “free palestine”
This actually seems like a good place for it. If it can help answer questions and summarise more complicated subjects that might not seem obvious to someone then that’s useful.
“If” doing quite a bit of the heavy lifting in that sentence.
The GOV.UK App public beta will be available to download from 1 July in the Apple App store and Google marketplace.
Can’t they provide an APK as well
