I’ve only ever owned electric mowers (actually, that shouldn’t be plural - I’ve only ever owned one electric mower which I brought back in 2007 when I got a house with a garden). It isn’t a battery one - I’m not sure they existed back then - but I will change it for one when I have to replace it as the cable’s a bit annoying.
I’d actually rather leave the grass to grow but apparently it looks untidy.
Yeah, or there’s something obviously broken but no obvious way to fix, or a spring pings off during disassembly and it isn’t clear where it came from.
So many times I’ve taken things apart to “see what’s wrong” to no avail.

2·20 days agoUnfortunately there’s no alt text available on the archive bunnies.
You are welcome of course to quote-boost and add your own, but the alt text on the newer ones is written by the artist and attached to the original post. The source of the older ones doesn’t have this text so I can’t just grab it and attach it here.
Sorry! I’d love for everything to be accessible but I’d have to write the description myself (which means I need to run ahead and find some way of specifying the text so it is picked up before posting - probably worth pointing out I’m rubbish at describing images anyway), or get AI to do it which doesn’t necessarily mean it will be accurate as I won’t have time to check before it is posted. I don’t mind doing that with some things but I suspect it’ll miss the nuances here.

It’s on Discovery+ for catch-up, TLC if you want to watch live.

If it’s a date it’s more likely to be their year of birth, no?
I’m not sure if it works the same way, but Google Wallet uses a virtual card number as well as needing the phone unlocked. There a layer of obfuscation over using a contactless card, that I like.
How about some Adam Buxton?

Chris@feddit.uktoMental Health@lemmy.world•How do you stay sane when you have to work all the time?English
3·1 month agoSorry if I came across like that (I still think 3½ jobs is too many just for a roof and food, but maybe that’s normal for America - for a European, it sounds insane). That’s a shitty situation to be in and I feel for you. The US sucks right now, unfortunately the only two options are to move to a country (or at least state - seriously, what sort of law is that? I sort of understand where it could come from but it makes no sense) which doesn’t persecute trans people, or ride it out and hope the next administration reverses all the terrible things that lunatic has done. The first is expensive and the second isn’t great either. I hope your situation improves.

65·1 month agoThree and a half jobs… Obviously I don’t know the full situation but you must be living well outside your means. Whatever money sinks you have, get rid of them if you can. Nobody should need to work three or more jobs. I’d argue nobody even needs to work two jobs but sometimes it’s unavoidable or one is a personal project which wouldn’t be possible without income from the other.
Sort your finances out so you can work less and you’ll be happier.
