Hyundai and Kia are recalling a combined 3.37 million vehicles in the United States due to the risk of engine fires, telling owners to park outside and away from structures until repairs are complete.
I’m saying in Europe and Asia, they’re both highly rated brands, for reliability and value for money. They’re clearly selling different models in the US because they can
Good of them to subsidise our quality cars though lmao
Except for the recent car fire issue, the main problem with those two brands in the USA are that they are easy to steal. That isn’t a reliability issue.
Is it corruption? The US car market is pretty competitive.
I suspect the cars are cheaper in South Korea mainly due to tarrifs, shipping, and localization.
Also, ads provided by the TV itself came from Chinese companies making their TV’s cheaper for Chinese consumers, so it isn’t an American idea.

But somehow they’re not easy to steal in other countries…
Or maybe the reasons for stealing them are different across countries. It isn’t like they are using different anti-theft devices across countries.
Hyundai has factories in the USA. Tarrifs and shipping shouldn’t really apply here.
Not all cars are built in the USA, and even then parts may be shipped over.
