I just want it to be fun, silly, and a bit camp.

Everything takes itself to seriously these days and Fable never did.

Yeah that’s exactly what I want out of a new Fable game: silly campy fun. That’s more important to me than graphics.

I get the urge to play 2 and 3 sometimes but there’s no way to play them. The first game has so many ways to play it but no love for the others sadly

Well, it will be one of the best compliments if the game actually looks like that.

If this is a classic tale of trailer footage looking better than the finished game, that dev is going to have egg on his face.

Oh hell ya, big time! I’ve got some high hopes, but the level of graphics on display does seem beyond this Gen for gameplay, somehow.

This “classic tale” you mention has basically only happened once or twice, as long as I’m understanding you.

If you mean “often times scenimatic cgi trailers look nothing like the game” then yeah that’s fair.

If you mean “this in engine trailer looks way better than the game that launched as far as fidelity is concerned” then there are no legitimate examples I’ve seen besides Watch Dogs 1. The spiderman puddle was a complete hallucination, as was every other example I’ve seen.

Anyone with a link to the trailer? I know I could just Google it but part of a rich experience when reading comments is links to sources and other QOL stuff.

I just hope it keeps the morality system of the original games and the freedom you had (like you could just go and rob and murder people etc.) that really made the original Fable stand out over other RPGs at the time as few franchises gave you such freedom (The Elder Scrolls, Deus Ex etc.)

I hope they take the original system and flesh it out. Good and bad have only so much to them, and it’s a bit stale. I want the rest of my choices to matter too. If I gorge myself on stolen sweets, I wanna get fatter and start wheezing while running around. If I choose not to go into water or spend nights at a home or Inn, I want people to comment on my character’s smell and I want to see my character get filthier.

Hahaha, GTA San Andreas had that right? You could get super fat and then you had to go to the gym, you could even have a heart attack if you did nothing, that was pretty hilarious.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance has the stuff where if your clothes are dirty or ragged people will comment on it and treat you differently, and that’s like an AA studio, so hopefully they can manage it.

Bro what?! lol. I played tf outta San Andreas, had no idea that you could actually get so unfit that you could have a heart attack 😂.

I really do think top studio devs can pull off a dynamic and robust set of systems to “evolve” the main character if they want to and are given a big enough budget. Fingers crossed!

You know what tickles me the most about this? It’s very possible that we might FINALLY get the game Peter Molyneux promised us way back in the day.

Fable 2 had a mechanic where your character would get fatter if they ate too many pies, and it affected how attractive villagers found you, iirc

I agree, it would be cool to see that kind of thing expanded and implemented with modern resources

What a stupid, stupid game (that i played through like 8 times)

I’d bet they do. It’s not their job, or responsibility, sure. But they’re pouring how much of their time and effort into this project? Why wouldn’t they care about the story?

ForzaTech - the same engine used by the Forza games. Though reports from last year indicate the transition from just racing games hasn’t been easy.

I wonder if the devs chose that engine to work on or if it was kind of forced on them.

I remember reading about EA seemingly forcing a lot of their dev studios to use frostbite for a while. Bioware ending up creating ME:Andromeda with it, which was full of jank. Victory games reported a ton of problems with it trying to get it running an RTS (C&C Generals 2) as well and that game ended up getting binned.

WHAT?! Is this real life?! THE Fable?? Dear Moses I don’t know if I can withhold my excitement. Fable 2 was my top, but I liked the first 3. I don’t know if I’ve been this excited about a new video-game since Majora’s Mask
